“We’re both committed to doing what’s best for the country,” Trump said to the crowd gathered at the Desert Diamond Arena, with RFK Jr. standing by his side. He also mentioned that, if elected, he would form an independent presidential commission to investigate assassination attempts, which would include releasing all remaining documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, RFK Jr.’s uncle, who was killed in 1963.
“He’s an incredible individual, a great man who truly cares about the American people,” Trump said of RFK Jr.
RFK Jr., formerly a long-shot candidate, revealed that he had met with Trump several times since last month. He said they focused on shared values and issues rather than their differences. One topic they discussed was ensuring safe food and addressing the chronic disease epidemic.
RFK Jr. voiced his support for Trump, asking the crowd, “Don’t you want a president who will protect our freedoms, ensure a safe environment for our children, and make America healthy again?”
Trump acknowledged RFK Jr.’s strong polling but pointed out the challenges of the two-party system. He then invited RFK Jr.’s supporters to join his campaign, saying, “Let’s build a coalition for liberty, safety, prosperity, and peace. We must win to save our country from those who would destroy it.”
The rally, held in a packed arena, was the same venue where VP Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz recently held an event.
