A lucky Korok has the chance to find wealth, fame and power as a Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player takes them aboard their One Piece-inspired pirate boat.

The Instagram account Daily Zelda Videos recently uploaded footage of a Tears of the Kingdom player using the Ultrahand mechanic to create their own One Piece adventure. They attach objects together, including a fan, rockets, flying device and boat, to create a flying pirate ship, attaching the Korok to the front and captioning the post with the phrase, “Going with my comrade Korok to find the One Piece.” This is one example of many players bringing anime references into the Nintendo game.

One Piece Fans Joked About the Korok’s Journey

The short clip makes the One Piece connection even stronger by playing the song “Jungle P” by the band 5050 over it. This song was the theme for the anime’s ninth opening title sequence, accompanying episodes 326-372 of the Toei Animations series. The comments featured plenty of appreciation for the joke, with one user fittingly claiming that it would take the Korok “2000 episodes before he reaches his friend.”

Koroks are a small race of creatures that can be found throughout the lands of Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom and its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, offering Korok seeds to those who can uncover them. However, they have been subject to a lot of torture in the latest game, as the Ultrahand ability grants players the tools to attach them to other objects via their backpacks. This has resulted in Koroks being crucified, fired into space via rockets, roasted on a fire and more. One player even used the game to recreate The Eclipse from Berserk, sacrificing a Korok to the Godhand.

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released on May 12, 2023, and has become one of the biggest launches in Nintendo’s history. It includes many fan-pleasing features, such as unique armor sets inspired by previous games and challenging shrine puzzles.

On the other hand, One Piece, written by Eiichiro Oda, has been running since 1997, becoming one of the most popular titles in the animanga industry. The latest installment of the manga — Chapter 1085 — was released on June 4, 2023, with the next chapter set to arrive on June 11. The anime adaptation is currently adapting the “Wano Country” arc and has received high praise for its animation, especially in the battle between Zoro and King, which included a hidden message.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media with a Shonen Jump subscription. Additionally, the anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.
