If fans were ever to look up the word ‘extra’ in the dictionary, they’d find Yuri!!! on Ice’s Victor Nikiforov beaming back at them with his heart-shaped mouth.

An incredible Yuri!!! on Ice fan artist has illustrated nearly all of Victor’s facial expressions. プペ (@/Sennbee1027) has illustrated a myriad of eleven Victor Nikiforov faces in their fan art. At the top is a possible post-canon fan art of Yuri and Victor. Victor has pinched Yuri’s chin between his fingers, his forehead touching against Yuri’s gently while the latter presses his fingers against Victor’s mouth. プペ has captured every one of Victor’s worried expressions as he watches Yuri skate, as well as his looks of pride. They’ve also illustrated Victor’s flirtatious gestures, such as his wink and killer heart-shaped smile.

All of Victor’s expressions only reminded fans of the frenzied and wonderful times when Yuri!!! on Ice aired in 2016, as well as the realization it has been almost seven years since they last saw Victor and Yuri. プペ has got Yuri!!! on Ice covered though, for now. The artist has fed the fandom through the number of fan art they have uploaded since April 2023. They have illustrated Victuuri, the fandom ship name for the couple, in their “Stammi Vicino” pairs outfits, Yuuri stroking Victor’s face while he’s in his “Eros” costume as well as the different expressions the pair have when they have eyes only for each other. Of course, the artist did not forget the tritagonist Yuri Plisetsky as the Ice Tiger of Russia has his own solo portrait in his “Agape” costume.

Yuri!!! on Ice’s Movie’s Development Hell

Nobody knows when or if the now six-year-old announcement of Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence will escape from the MAPPA Studio production dungeon. However, the production team has made an effort to reassure fans they had not forgotten the series when they wrote a note, addressing the fandom in November 2020. However, fans desperate for any kind of news has seen little remnants of the series in other MAPPA productions. A few fans have noted some startling similarities between the Yuri!!! on Ice poster and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 key visual, from the blue color scheme to some of the characters’ poses.

Arguably the smash hit of the fall season, Yuri!!! on Ice premiered in October 2016 under Sayo Yamamoto’s direction and Mitsurō Kubo’s scripts. Set possibly after the 2012 Grand Prix Final at Sochi, Yuri!!! on Ice follows Japanese figure skater Yuri Katsuki who decides to return home to Hasetsu after falling in last place at the GPF to consider the future of his competitive career. There, he skates to Victor Nikiforov’s program, minus the jumps. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for him, someone records and uploads his video, capturing Victor’s attention, and leading the most decorated figure skater to put a pause on his career to travel to Japan to coach Yuri.

Yuri!!! on Ice is available on Crunchyroll, but new viewers be forewarned: Episode 1 will give them an up-and-personal view of what a figure skater’s butt looks like.
