Voice actor Vic Mignogna, known for his many anime roles, recently showed much more of himself than necessary during a live-stream.

Twitter user Renfamous posted a video clip of the incident, which occurred on Dec. 5 during what the post calls an “all-female right-wing YouTube stream.” One woman is talking about her pet cat, and Mignogna smiles and appears to move his camera. The camera pans down and reveals that Mignogna has no trousers on. The stream host quickly cuts off his video and says “We lost Vic,” as all three women laugh. The majority of replies on the tweet were appalled, but one of the streamers, Chrissie Mayr, stated that the incident was “not a big deal” and a “boomer moment.” Other replies suggest that the clip may be very unprofessional, but not necessarily sexual harassment.

Allegations Against Vic Mignogna

Vic Mignogna is mostly known for his roles in anime dubs, including his voice work for Edward in Fullmetal Alchemist and Tamaki in Ouran High School Host Club. However, he hasn’t received voice roles for several years now due to the controversy that surrounds him. The actor has a history of sexual harassment allegations, some dating back as far as 1989. Female voice actors and fans alike have made accusations against him, leading to his dismissal from Rooster Teeth and Funimation. Several anime conventions have also dropped him from guest lists in the wake of the allegations.

In 2019, Mignogna pursued legal action against his accusers for defamation and tortious interference. Later that year, a judge ruled in favor of the defendants and Mignogna was compelled to pay for their attorney fees. He made an appeal for this ruling. In August 2022, the courts affirmed the judge’s original ruling but referred to a misjudgment of the amount of fees required. Indeed, the amount Mignogna had to pay for legal fees increased even higher. While the actor made motions to appeal, they were dismissed once again in September of this year.

The voice actor’s fans have attempted to set up events and reinstate him as a guest at conventions, but faced many setbacks. In fact, this past November, efforts were made to book Vic as a guest at multiple fan events in Omaha, Nebraska. However, each venue canceled as soon as they faced community backlash. The autograph signing ended up as an official meetup at a parking lot, and then continued in a local Chili’s restaurant.

Mignogna’s last role was in 2019, but his fans continue to petition in his favor and promote him for new work.
