A trustworthy person will always tell the honest truth, and they are also reliable and responsible, so people can rely on them no matter what. Many anime protagonists are like that, and in shonen and shojo anime, it sets a great example for young viewers.
Unlike crafty antiheroes who might lie or bend the truth, the most trustworthy and honest anime protagonists will mean what they say and do whatever is asked of them without fail. Such characters can always be taken for their word, and other people can trust them with an important assignment or mission and expect good results.
