Scarlet Bond features a brand-new story created by Fuse, the author of the That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime light novel series. The film has the series’ main hero, Rimuru Tempest, investigating a new country called Raja that is plagued by a mysterious curse that is threatening the well-being of the nation’s citizens by destroying their water sources. It also appears to be harming their Queen, whose health is rapidly declining. While trying to discover more about the curse, Rimuru, his commander, Benimaru and their other companions meet Hiiro, a survivor of the Ogre race that has settled in Raja and also wants to end the curse that is destroying his home.

The plot of Fuse’s That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime light novel series starts with a 37-year-old man named Satoru Mikami who lives a simple but lonely life in the real world. One day, Satoru is brutally murdered and reborn into a fantasy world in the form of a blue slime monster with unique powers and abilities. Shortly afterward, Satoru befriends and helps a Storm Dragon named Veldora, who grants him the name Rimiru Tempest and accompanies him on a mission to create a new country where all races can live together in peace. The anime’s third season is currently in the works, but a release window has not yet been announced.
