Spy x Family’s Loid Forger will finally meet his elusive target of Operation Strix in the upcoming finale of Season 1.

The reason why Loid adopted Anya and married Yor was so he could get close to Donovan Desmond, the Chairman of the National Unity Party. Shared by the official Spy x Family anime Twitter account, the preview images for Episode 25, titled “First Contact,” reveal that after 25 episodes, Loid has finally met him.

Viewers rarely see the “Twilight” side of Loid, but with the shadows cast on his face and the dangerous glint in his eyes, it’s no wonder his spy agency WISE assigned Loid to this particular mission. In the second preview image, Anya displays another classic meme face, although this looks to be an upgrade to her “heh” expression. In Episode 25, Damian seems annoyed and angry. In the final preview image, surrounded by security guards, Donovan Desmond makes his debut.

Twilight Finds Happiness as Part of a Family

Twilight has played numerous roles over the course of his spy career, but his latest as Loid Forger took him down a surprising path. He had to become a father and a husband in the span of a week, and since then, he’s discovered family life to be much more harrowing and stressful than all of his most dangerous spy missions combined. Despite that, he unexpectedly found happiness, pride and warmth in his new life as Loid Forger with Yor and Anya by his side. As someone who made a choice to abandon human connection and attachment for the sake of world peace, Loid has come a long way since the beginning of Season 1.

Set around the 1960s, Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family follows the trials, tribulations and joys of the Forger family navigating their new life together while also maintaining secret double lives. Loid isn’t the only one with a secret — city employee Yor is also the professional assassin Thorn Princess, whose goal is to kill all the evil people in the world. Their adoptive daughter Anya, a secret telepath, is the biggest factor in making sure her parents don’t know the other’s secret occupation. Introduced in Season 2 is the Forgers’ newest addition to the family — a big fluffy white dog named Bond with the ability to see into the future.

A Spy x Family Musical and More in 2023

Despite Season 1 ending soon, Spy x Family fans have several things to look forward to in 2023. Season 2 will premiere sometime in the next year along with a new Spy x Family anime film, featuring an entirely original story, supervised by Endo. March will see the first performances of the musical adaptation of Spy x Family, called Musical Spy x Family, starring four Anyas taking the stage.

The final episode of Spy x Family’s first season will premiere Dec. 24 on Crunchyroll and Hulu. Updated biweekly, Spy x Family’s manga chapters are available to read on VIZ Media and Manga Plus.
