Spy x Family Cosplayers Recreate the Anime’s Visuals With Unreal Accuracy

A trio of Spy x Family cosplayers is recreating the posters from the anime in one waku waku photo shoot.

Posted by @/linnnng_cos on Instagram, the cosplayer, along with @/nc__tw and @/helene.tw portrayed the Forger family, giving fans an idea of what a live-action adaptation of the anime might look like, with @/linnnng_cos as Yor, @/nc__tw as Twilight and @/helene.tw as Anya. They even edited the Anya cosplayer so that she matched the size measurements in the poster. The cosplayers made sure to capture every detail, including having their clothes hang in midair to make the recreation as close as possible to the anime.

@/linnnng_cos showed off their cosplay as Yor when she’s the Thorn Princess, but the cosplayer has also cosplayed the character in her more casual fashion, with Yor’s red dress and soft pink headband. Aside from Spy x Family, @/linnnng_cos has also cosplayed as the cutely extravagant Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling. One of their earlier cosplays on their Instagram is that of Sakura Kinomoto from the popular magical girl series Cardcaptor Sakura.

@/nc__tw portrayed Twilight in the cosplay and, similarly, also showed off the character’s duality by wearing Loid’s beige sweater with a white collar peeking out in another photo. They’ve also cosplayed as Yor before, set in a blood-red background. Most recently, @/nc__tw portrayed Lucy from the critically acclaimed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. @/helene.tw showed off their sweet side in their cosplay as Anya, but it appears they usually opt for more mature cosplays.

About Spy x Family

Created by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family launched on Shōnen Jump+ in March 2019. With its story about an eclectic found family comprised of a spy pretending to be a father for the sake of world peace, an assassin pretending to be a city worker and a four-year-old telepath pretending to be a normal six-year-old child, Spy x Family quickly stole the hearts of readers around the world. While each character has their own motivations for continuing with their farce, they all ultimately crave belonging in a family, knowing their love is unconditional. In April 2022, Wit Studio and CloverWorks worked together to produce an anime adaptation that lasted two split cours. Prior to the anime’s premiere, the series had already hit over two million in circulation. When the anime began airing, Spy x Family recorded 15 million copies. As of December 2022, the manga has sold over 29 million copies.

Season 1 of Spy x Family is available on Crunchyroll and Hulu. A second season and an original movie will release sometime in 2023, with Endo overseeing the film.
