With a recently announced spinoff series featuring Sung Jinwoo’s son, Solo Leveling is likely to stick around for at least a little while longer.
Solo Leveling has announced a brand-new spinoff webcomic titled Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, as reported by Redbeanime. The protagonist of Ragnarok will be Sung Suho, the son of Sung Jinwoo. The new series’ trailer offers no insight into what the plot might be. Even so, it’s expected to adapt the remaining short stories from the online novel series in which Suho discovers his abilities as the Shadow Monarch’s offspring. Before he vanishes, viewers can catch a quick glance of Suho, who has light blue eyes rather than his father’s purple ones.
Chugong’s webnovel Solo Leveling was adapted into a webcomic in March 2018 with Dubu, the CEO of Redice Studio, as the artist. The manhwa grew in popularity, with many fans praising the series for its dynamic, detailed, and vibrant artwork. The series concluded in December 2021 and has received over 4.3 billion views, according to Kakao Page. Because of its popularity, A-1 Pictures, a studio known for adapting Black Butler, Erased, and Nier: Automata Ver1.1a, has announced an anime adaptation.
The Anime for Solo Leveling Is Much Anticipated
The happy reaction of viewers at finally witnessing the legendary comics come to life. Solo Leveling immediately rose to the top of the list of the most eagerly anticipated anime adaptations because to the involvement of directors and musicians like Shunsuke Nakashige and Hiroyuki Sawano. At the time of the announcement, Dubu had expressed his desire to view the anime adaptation, saying, “I feel absolutely overwhelmed when I realize that the anime is truly being created right now. The only reason for this is because of all of you fans who love and support solo leveling. I’m so grateful. I sincerely appreciate it.”
Shortly after, Dubu passed away as a result of a brain hemorrhage brought on by chronic sickness. Fans were grieved by the artist’s passing because Dubu would have loved to have seen the story he helped create come to life through animation. When Solo Leveling announced that the series would publish special side stories to honor Dubu’s legacy, it was clear that they had not forgotten about Dubu and his great achievements. These additional chapters would be illustrated by a group of illustrators who had previously collaborated with Dubu.
Solo Leveling: Ragnarok launches on April 10. The special epilogue chapters are available to read on MangaMonster
