Anime waifus are beloved for their charm and heroic spirits. They are usually the most kind-hearted characters in any show. However, there are just as many waifus who show their strength through their cutthroat actions. These ruthless waifus do not give people second chances and do not hesitate to defeat their enemies.
Ruthless waifus can be compassionate in their own way. Yet, anyone who crosses these female characters or the ones they love is unceremoniously brought down. There is no mercy in these waifus’ actions. Their only goals in the heat of battle are to destroy their enemies.
10 Taiga Aisaka (Toradora!)
Taiga Aisaka is known in Toradora! as the Palm-Top Tiger due to her explosive personality. She is easily angered and violently lashes out when she is provoked. Taiga also practices kendo, which makes her especially dangerous to her bullies.
Throughout Toradora!, Taiga works to quell her anger, but she cannot help her violent tendencies. Taiga would do anything to protect her fragile pride. Once her feelings for Ryuuji Takasu are revealed, she would do anything to defend him as well.
9 Bishamonten (Noragami)
As the goddess of combat and warriors, Bishamonten is a force to be reckoned with. She uses her many regalia to devastating effect – taking down evil spirits and brash gods without batting an eye.
Bishamon shows compassion, but her main focus is using her brutality to protect her followers and the world at large. If she sees a threat, Bishamon will stop at nothing to defeat it. Bishamon even fights after becoming blighted, further illustrating her relentlessness in combat.
8 Arisa Uotani (Fruits Basket)
Arisa Uotani is one of Tohru Honda’s best friends in Fruits Basket. However, in her younger years, Uotani was part of a gang. Many of the gang members would beat Uotani. These gruesome attacks have made Uotani a ruthless anime waifu.
Thankfully, Uotani is no longer a part of a gang, but she still uses her survival skills to intimidate anyone who threatens her friends. Even in friendly games, Uotani never pulls her punches. Uotani loves a challenge and loves winning them even more.
7 Android 18 (Dragon Ball)
Android 18 was created to be cruel in the world of Dragon Ball. Her only directive upon her rebirth as an Android is to seek out Goku and destroy him for her creator, Dr. Gero.
During battle, Android 18’s singular goal makes her a particularly unfeeling opponent. To her, the fights are just her job. She becomes a cold combatant, as she has no feeling in the fight whatsoever. Although she eventually rebels against Dr. Gero and becomes a Z Fighter, Android 18 never loses her steely demeanor in battle.
6 Satsuki Kiryuin (Kill la Kill)
Satsuki Kiryuin is the Student Council President of Hannoji Academy in Kill la Kill. Satsuki is an unrelenting leader. With her coterie of Life Fiber adorned-minions, Satsuki stamps out the slightest bit of misconduct. She is also unceremonious in taking away various starred uniforms when other club presidents fail to do as she asks.
Satsuki has to be tough on everyone to enact her plan to take down her mother, Ragyo. If even one person is out of place, Satsuki knows that her scheme will fail. Satsuki is not afraid to unleash the entire might of the Student Council on anyone who dares to stand up to her – including her sister, Ryuko Matoi.
5 Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)
Erza Scarlet is a powerful mage in Fairy Tail. Although she is renowned for her incredible abilities, Erza has many insecurities. Most of these fears stem from her younger years when she couldn’t save her friends from terrible fates. This fear has made her relentless in battle, as she hopes to never let anyone down again.
Erza is strong and determined. She never backs down from a fight. Even when she is not wearing her usual armor, Erza still defeats enemies like Ikaruga. Ezra is a ruthless waifu because she no longer lets her physical and mental limits stop her from winning.
4 Yor Briar (Spy x Family)
Yor Briar is Anya Forger’s new mother in Spy x Family. Everyone believes Yor works as a civil servant. However, Anya knows that Yor’s true job is as an assassin. Due to the nature of her job, Yor acts quickly and unfeelingly toward her intended targets. If she hesitates at all, Yor will miss her mark and put herself in danger.
This occupational hazard applies to enemies Yor meets in her civilian life as well. Yor often forgets her strength and uses it to the fullest on anyone who dares to threaten Anya. Even if the bullies are only teenagers, Yor uses her job training to ensure no one messes with her daughter again.
3 Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
Mikasa Ackerman is one of the soldiers in the Paradis Military from Attack on Titan. Since she entered basic training, Mikasa has had an aptitude for taking down Titans. She uses this talent to blindly protect her childhood friend, Eren Yeager. To Mikasa, Eren is the most important person, which prompts her to do anything to keep him alive.
Eren does not return Mikasa’s gestures, yet she continues to ruthlessly kill any Titan she sees. Mikasa’s kill count is second only to Captain Levi Ackerman – one of the top soldiers in the Scout Regiment. Even into adulthood, Mikasa continues to be a force of nature whenever Eren is threatened.
2 Nobara Kugisaki (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Nobara Kugisaki is one of the newest Sorcerer’s-in-training in Jujutsu Kaisen. Although she is still a greenhorn, Kugisaki has proven her indomitable power.
Kugisaki goes into every fight eager to win but never is her ruthlessness shown more prevalently in the anime than when she faces Eso. After he poisons her, Kugisaki uses her Straw Doll Technique on herself. Hammering nails into her own arm, Kugisaki demonstrates to Eso that she is not one to be trifled with during a fight.
1 Olivier Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
Olivier Armstrong is in charge of the soldiers stationed at Fort Briggs in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Olivier rules Fort Briggs with an iron fist, giving enemies only one chance to do as she asks before dispatching them. She is even ruthless to her subordinates, barking out commands as she pleases.
For Oliver, home life is no different from her military duty. She fought tooth and nail to become head of the Armstrong family over her brother Alex Louis, and she succeeded. When Olivier sees a threat or something she wants, she stops at nothing until she achieves her desires or quells any competition.
