As the strongest slime monster in the world, Rimuru Tempest has shown off some wild moves, but he isn’t the only character to get a massive upgrade for the movie Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond. For most of the film, Rimuru takes a backseat while the side characters take part in all the action.
Fans are familiar with some of the attacks that the characters have grown and developed throughout the first two seasons of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, but even the strongest moves from the series pale in comparison to the amazing attacks the characters utilized in Scarlet Bond, especially with the animation upgrade the characters got.
10 Ogre Flame
The film introduces Hiiro, a survivor from the Ogre village that wasn’t present when the village was attacked by Orcs. After he’s given a name, he gains fire abilities, including Ogre flame, which allows him to shoot fireballs and propel himself with explosions.
The fireballs themselves aren’t incredibly powerful, but the use of fire gives him a massive boost in strength in speed. It works similarly to Bakugo Katsuki’s Quirk in My Hero Academia, and, considering how powerful Bakugo is, it makes sense that Hiiro’s use of Ogre Flames is just as formidable.
9 Clone Attack
When Hiiro learns of the attack on his village, he abandons his duty as a mercenary for Demon Lord Clayman and travels back to his village in an attempt to help. However, his abandonment isn’t taken well, so Lord Clayman sends his army commander, Yamza, to kill Hiiro before he can reach his village.
Yamza proves too strong for Hiiro, especially when he pulls out his strongest attack. Yamza’s clone attack allows him to duplicate himself and attack Hiiro twice. Facing one mercenary was hard enough for Hiiro, but after getting stabbed twice with his opponent’s clone attack, the fight was over.
8 Poison
With the power of her Tiara, Queen Towa of Raja is able to dispel the poison coming from the mines so her people aren’t affected. Unfortunately, all the poison being absorbed by the tiara is going into her body, making her incredibly sick and frail.
However, the poison isn’t a natural phenomenon but a result of Lacua, a servant of the Demon Lord Violet. What makes the poison so strong is the fact that it’s a silent killer. If Queen Towa wasn’t there to absorb the poison, her citizens would be dying without knowing why. The poison is so strong it has cursed every Queen that’s come before Towa, which is why her kingdom has been struggling.
7 Cursed Orb
Lacua is determined to kill Queen Towa and destroy the kingdom of Raja, which is why he tricks Hiiro into consuming the cursed orb. The cursed orb enhances Hiiro’s strength tenfold; unfortunately, it also turns him into a mindless monster.
With his enhanced abilities, Hiiro single-handedly destroys the sacred cave he and the Queen were trapped in, and he would have destroyed the capital if Benimaru hadn’t been there to stop him. Using the cursed orb seems like a great way to enhance someone’s strength; however, it kills anyone who consumes it. Hiiro survived because Queen Towa was willing to sacrifice herself to bring him back to life.
6 Shion’s Cooking
Shion may have gained the cooking skill, but her cooking abilities haven’t improved. Her cooking is so bad it instantly knocks out anyone who gets a single whiff of it. Gobta even gained poison resistance from eating her cooking.
While Rimuru and his team were traveling to Raja, Shion pulled out some cookies for her flying companion to eat, but the smell of her terrible cooking caused the dragon they were flying on to fall from the sky. Reincarnated as a Slime uses Shion’s poor cooking for comedy, but considering how quickly it affects the people who get near her cooking, Shion could get away with using her cooking to take out her enemies.
5 Nihilistic Vanish
One of the best attacks featured in Scarlet Bond is during the short fight between Diablo and Violet. Diablo discovers she’s responsible for the curse placed on the Queens of Raja, and when Violet refuses to stop toying with Raja, a fight breaks out between them.
Violet’s ability, Nihilistic Vanish, captures her victim in a web and then envelops their entire body until they can’t move. Once a person is captured by Nihilistic Vanish, it eats away at them until nothing is left. The attack is pretty effective, but it also comes with great visuals that showcase just how powerful the attack is. A weak monster wouldn’t stand a chance against the attack, but luckily for Diablo, he received a power boost after being named, so he was able to survive.
4 Death Storm
Ranga spends most of his time carrying Rimuru around, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t just as strong as everyone else. During the final battle, Ranga uses his attack Death Storm to kill Doctor Chikuan with a single attack.
This ability allows Ranga to summon a giant storm that envelops his enemies with wind and lightning. Chikuan may have survived if he hadn’t severely underestimated Ranga’s abilities, but because he believed Ranga was weak, Chikuan didn’t even see his attack coming.
3 Devour All
Rimuru’s best attack is Devour All. He uses it every time he needs to defeat a powerful villain, and the attack works just as well against Lacua. During the final battle, Lacura swallows a cursed orb in order to gain enough power to defeat Rimuru.
Unlike Hiiro, who turns into a powerful monster after consuming the orb, the orb overwhelms Lacura, causing a huge explosion. The force would have been enough to destroy the capital city of Raja, but thanks to Rimuru’s Devour All attack, he was able to consume the force of the explosion and completely nullify it.
2 Blaze Of Black Smoke
When Hiiro is under the effect of the cursed orb, Benimaru takes it upon himself to fight him. They’re evenly matched for most of the fight, especially because Benimaru doesn’t want to hurt his closest friend.
When Hiiro poses a threat to the city of Raja, Benimaru stops holding back and uses his best attack, Blaze of Black Smoke. This attack turns his sword into a fire blade and allows him to defeat Hiiro with a single strike. Considering how strong the attack was, Benimaru should have pulled it out sooner, even if he didn’t want to hurt his friend.
1 Vortex Crash
Gabiru is a comedy relief character who tends to think highly of himself even though he’s weaker than everyone else. However, he does have some pretty cool moves, which he pulls out to help protect Raja.
Gabiru uses the Vortex Crash attack, which creates a vortex of air to overwhelm his enemies. It’s similar in style to Ranga’s Death Storm attack but slightly less powerful. However, the attack still packs a punch and helps him win the battle in a single strike.
