Ranker’s Return Chapter 116 will have the MC and Teng-i going on a fight against the big bad ugly monster. The story didn’t name the monster that, but our two main characters were treating it that way from the get-go. However, at this point, that is the standard MO for these characters: not taking anything seriously and getting the job done.

The story is in the second stage, or a new stage for MC’s life, now that he is out of debt. He now plays the game for money, but there was a time he didn’t want to. The MC wanted to keep it sacred and make it fun by not partaking in the money side of things, but he had to switch gears.

Once, he learned that his family’s debt was on his shoulders and that it was a scheme from his former partner. He dedicated all his mind to earning money and returning the money that his family was cheated out of. That arc concluded some 20 chapters ago, and the story has yet to find its footing again.

Ranker’s Return Chapter 115 had Teng-i tell the MC that there is someplace that they should go. The companion Pikachu Cheek Bear recommended that they should go to his village and meet his parents, something that made the MC a little excited. However, he got a little curious once he learned that Tengi’s parents wore human clothing.

The MC was imagining them as Bears in human clothing, a thing he would have been right about if it weren’t a manhwa. It is also clear that he doesn’t read that many manhwas to give him an idea of what to expect from things. The story also hinted soon enough that Teng-i’s parents will have the appearance of human beings.

We got the first (and only hint) when the two entered a village, and the MC saw a man in the village. He didn’t realize why that was, but he learned that the little Kuma’s parents also had human appearance. Oh, and he was made to take off his gloves and mask to not aggravate the NPCs with his gear’s passive.

Ranker’s Return Chapter 116 will have the MC and his Pikachu-themed bear take on a beast that was residing in the cave. The MC didn’t expect to see that monster inside the cave as he had come across one in the arena. It was the very same arena where he faced a troublesome person who wanted to plumate him to the ground for no reason at all.

Though, if we look at it from her perspective, it was indignation. She didn’t think that the MC would be any better than him in any manner, but the guy beat her easily. From all this, MC learned his lesson of avoiding that woman and making sure that he never sees her again. And to recover from that is also why he had come to Teng-i’s village, which led them to the cave…
