One-Punch Man Heads to Overwatch for Season 3 Crossover

Doomfist will don Saitama’s iconic yellow jumpsuit in an upcoming Overwatch 2 x One-Punch Man crossover for Season 3 of the game.

Announced on the official Overwatch Twitter account, Season 3 of Overwatch 2 will feature a special collaboration with the One-Punch Man anime series from March 7 to April 6. This event marks the first-ever major anime collaboration for the Overwatch series. A collection of cosmetics inspired by One-Punch Man will soon be available for the game. Doomfist, the popular “tank” hero with the cybernetic gauntlet, is seen dressed up as Saitama in the Season 3 trailer. The game will reveal each anime-inspired item before March 7 — one of which will be a Legendary skin that players can earn by completing themed challenges.

Overwatch Season 3 Will Feature More Than One-Punch Man

Season 3 of Overwatch 2 will have more for fans of the free-to-play shooter. The game will receive its first new control map in the form of an Antarctica Peninsula station. A variety of cosmetics inspired by Asian mythology will be available for the Season 3 Battle Pass. Players who complete the Premium Battle Pass will earn an Amaterasu Kiriko Mythic skin.

A Valentine’s Day event will run from Feb. 14 – 28, while a text-based dating sim where players can romance Mercy or Genji will be available from Feb. 13 – 28 at www.Loverwatch.gg. Other events include a PachiMarchi-themed Kill Confirmed game mode for March 21 – April 4. Overwatch 2 Season 3 will also feature new balance updates, quality-of-life changes, accessibility improvements, and a Streamer Protection setting that hides the BattleTag of the steamer and everyone involved in the match.

One-Punch Man is an anime series about Saitama, a bored superhero who can knock out any enemy with a single punch. Written by the author known as One – who also created Mob Psycho 100 – and illustrated by Yusuke Murata of Eyeshield 21 fame, One-Punch Man got its start as a digital manga. Season 1 of One-Punch Man was animated by Madhouse, while J.C.Staff took over production of Season 2. Season 3 of One-Punch Man is currently in production. The anime’s official Twitter account shot down a rumor that said MAPPA, the animation studio working on the final season of Attack on Titan, will take over animation duties from J.C.Staff.
