The creator of One-Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 is working on yet another new manga.
The Twitter page Anime News and Facts (or @AniNewsandFacts) recently spotlighted ONE’s latest project. This manga, titled Ka-Ra Hai, is a one-shot featuring artwork by Kiyoto. The project’s cover features a stone-faced youth standing in front of a backdrop of crumbling city buildings. The manga has a planned launch date of Apr. 27.
ONE’s Manga Series in the Works
Ka-Ra Hai is not the only new manga that ONE is working on. Last month, the artist unveiled the front cover of another new manga project, titled Versus, which features a story by ONE, a Series Composition by bose, and artwork by Azuma Kyoutarou (Tenkaichi, The King of Fighters: A New Beginning) The manga’s plot centers on a series of high-stakes battles between 47 heroes and 47 demon kings. Vol. 1’s front cover features three characters, presumably the main protagonists, an armor-clad youth with blue and white hair, an older man wielding what appears to be a magic staff and a pig-like imp. Hovering above all three characters is an enormous, grinning dragon. Vol. 1 of Versus will release on Apr. 7.
Even though ONE fans have two brand-new projects to look forward to, the artist is currently taking a short break from writing One-Punch Man. Last month, ONE put the series on hold after the release of its latest chapter on March 23. The manga is currently in the middle of its ‘Psychic Sisters’ story arc, the first sub-arc of the Neo Heroes Saga. According to ONE, the manga’s next update will come out on Apr. 20.
About ONE’s Other Manga Titles
One-Punch Man follows the journey of Saitama, a superhero that puts himself through such rigorous training that he loses all his hair and develops god-like strength. Season 3 of the popular anime adaptation is in production, although there is still no official release window. The season’s promotional poster features Saitama standing beside Garou, one of the primary villains of the “Monster Association” arc, the manga’s fifteenth main story arc. ONE’s other popular series, Mob Psycho 100, revolves around the titular Mob, a young boy born with psychic powers that he tries to repress in order to live a normal life. Mob’s boss and mentor, Arataka Reigen, helps Mob maintain proper control of his abilities, but also exploits them for his own benefit.
Ka-Ra Hai will hit shelves on Apr. 27. The One-Punch Man manga is available in English from VIZ. Dark Horse Comics publishes the English-language edition of Mob Psycho 100.
