The Rocks Pirates stand as one of the most influential and infamous pirate crews in the world of One Piece. Although they are no longer active, the legacy of their former members continues to shape an entire generation of pirates and marines. The existence of the Rocks Pirates was initially hinted at in the Wano arc of One Piece, bridging the gap between Acts 2 and 3. Sengoku, a prominent figure in the world of One Piece, referred to the Rocks Pirates as a formidable and fearsome group that sent shockwaves through the entire world nearly four decades ago.

Sengoku also revealed that, 38 years ago, the Rocks Pirates met their end on an island known as God Valley. Through a rare collaboration between the Roger Pirates and the Marines, they successfully subdued this notorious pirate crew and defeated their captain, Captain Rocks. With Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, providing fans with a more detailed glimpse of the Rocks Pirates, it becomes abundantly clear that their strength and influence were far greater than anyone could have ever imagined.

In One Piece Chapter 1096, the long-anticipated moment finally arrives as the Rocks Pirates make their way to God Valley. The catalyst for this event was Ginny, who possessed a remarkable talent for gathering intelligence and information. She leaked details about the highly coveted Devil Fruits associated with the Native Hunting Games, which naturally attracted the interest of many pirate crews, including the formidable Rocks Pirates.

It is likely that these two Devil Fruits were originally taken from Pirate Island, providing the impetus for Rocks to set his sights on this island, intent on retrieving these potent Devil Fruits. Although Captain Rocks himself did not make a physical appearance in Chapter 1096, his presence was felt as he barked orders to his crew before mysteriously vanishing from the scene.

The chapter allowed fans to get a proper look at the lineup of extraordinary members comprising the Rocks Pirates. This fearsome crew included legendary figures such as Whitebeard, Stussy, Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom), Streusen, Shiki, Gloriosa, Kaido, Captain John, Ochoku, Silver Axe, and many more.

The strength and capabilities of these pirates were nothing short of terrifying, and each member went on to achieve great heights in the world of One Piece, becoming some of the most formidable and influential figures in the series. Their lineup was a formidable force that struck fear into the hearts of Marines and World Government officials, as they represented some of the strongest and most legendary pirates to have ever roamed the world of One Piece.

The Strongest Members Of The Rocks Crew

Certainly, while the members of the Rocks Pirates may not have been at their absolute peaks during their time under Rocks’ leadership, it does not diminish their individual strengths. Serving under Rocks does not imply weakness; in fact, the crew was filled with formidable and renowned pirates. Notably, there were several divisions and divisions of authority within the Rocks Pirates.

For instance, Whitebeard, a powerful figure in his own right, did not consider himself subordinate to Rocks in terms of authority or strength. While he didn’t formally acknowledge Rocks as his captain, he was indeed a member of the Rocks Pirates.

Additionally, characters such as Shiki and Big Mom were already wielding their formidable abilities at this point in the story. Shiki possessed both Oto and Kogarashi, and his dialogue hinted at potentially having acquired the powers of the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi. Big Mom displayed the ability to control her homies and exhibited strength surpassing most of her crew members. Gloriosa, a Kuja tribe member, would likely have been a proficient user of Haki, rendering her a significant threat.

Interestingly, Kaido, though not at his absolute peak, still commanded immense power during his time with the Rocks Pirates. At this stage, he did not possess his Devil Fruit and was considered an apprentice, but he was already a formidable force to be reckoned with.

The Strength Of Captain Rocks

When it comes to Captain Rocks, it is highly likely that he was the strongest pirate of this era. This is indicated by the fact that Roger collided with him one year ago and seemed to have been carrying a grudge ever since. The implication here is that Roger was not able to defeat Captain Rocks and could potentially have lost the battle to him. This would then also explain why Sengoku believed that Rocks was the greatest adversary that Roger ever faced in his entire life. Another indication of the fact that Rocks was the strongest at this time is the fact that Garp and Roger had to team up to defeat him and both of them would likely have been users of Conqueror’s Haki at this point.

For one, Garp is literally shown wielding this power in One Piece chapter 1096. Meanwhile, Roger, without the power to wield Haki and a Devil Fruit, would not have been able to complete the journey across the entire Grand Line, including the New World, which he would have completed one year prior to the God Valley Incident. It would simply have been impossible for him to do so without having been equipped with powerful Haki. The fact that Rocks was still able to best Roger before the God Valley Incident suggests that he was truly the strongest of this era. Whether he had a Devil Fruit or not remains to be seen, however, what fans do know is that he would most certainly have had incredibly powerful Haki, given his ambition.
