The central theme of One Piece is pirates setting out to sea in search of a legendary treasure. Along the way, they get to explore the world and achieve freedom, which is forbidden by the World Government. Anyone who wants to become a pirate needs to be extremely strong to go against the Marines. Therefore, the world of One Piece is full of powerful pirates, and even though most of them are evil, there are also some good ones such as the Red Hair Pirates. When Shanks and his crew are introduced in the series, no one would have imagined they would turn out to be one of the strongest crews in the world.
Not only are they the crew members of a Yonko, but each of them is notorious for their unparalleled strength. They show their might in the Summit War without actually fighting. Shanks’ challenge against the pirates and Marines is enough to stop the gruesome war. However, despite their terrifying powers, the crew members are known to be surprisingly friendly and kind toward others. Moreover, they adore Luffy so much that Benn Beckman didn’t hesitate to point his gun at an admiral just to save the young pirate.
Shanks, The Master of Haki
Shanks is one of the very few iconic characters in the series to have tremendous power without a Devil Fruit ability. His title of a Yonko with a bounty of over four billion berries is a testament to his powers. Shanks is still a very mysterious character since the series has yet to show his full potential as a fighter. However, he has superior Haki skills than anyone in the current timeline. He is also one of the few characters to master all forms of Haki. He uses an advanced Haoshoku Haki technique to control his presence and prevent others from seeing into the future. Shanks primarily uses his giant sword, Gryphon, to fight by coating it with his Haki. Gryphon is a large saber with a single-edged blade.
Benn Beckman, Shanks’ Right-Hand Man
Benn Beckman is Shanks’ first mate and a very talented fighter. He possesses devastating physical strength, as shown in his fight with Higuma’s crew of mountain bandits where Benn only uses a cigarette and a rifle as a club. He can also imbue his rifle’s bullets with Armament Haki, thereby having the potential to injure a Logia user. Benn’s trademark weapon is a flintlock rifle, but the series has yet to show him use it. Apart from this, he is proficient enough in Armament Haki to imbue his arms with it and block strong physical attacks from his opponents.
Lucky Roo, The Crew’s Cook
Lucky Roux is the cook of the crew and is best known for stealing Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Mi. He is also the first person to kill someone both in the anime and the manga by shooting a mountain bandit in the head at point-blank range. Furthermore, he does that with ease while munching on some food, proving that Lucky is very used to killing people. He uses his oversized body to his advantage in battle with a unique fighting style called “Self-Bowling.” Using this attack requires him to curl himself into a ball and then roll around with the helping push of an ally. He is also proficient in Armament Haki.
Yasopp, The Crew’s Sniper
Yasopp holds the title of “Chaser” and is currently the best-known sniper in the world. He is Usopp’s father but abandoned him to pursue his dream of becoming a pirate. According to the story, Yasopp never misses his target, not even once. Yasopp’s Observation Haki is unparalleled, as he can even communicate with his son from afar, as shown in One Piece Film: Red. He has even better Observation Haki than Katakuri with longer future sight.
Limejuice Has His Own Version of Sky Walk
As a senior officer of the Red Hair Pirates, Limejuice has authority over lower-ranking members of the crew. He is able to jump in midair, somewhat similar to Sanji’s Sky Walk and Lucci’s Moon Walk. However, not much is known about Limejuice’s powers, meaning his skills in Haki cannot be accurately measured at this point in the story. However, he fights in the air with an electrically-charged staff.
