In the world of anime and manga, loyalty is frequently praised, especially in stories aimed at the shonen audience. Curiously though, it’s not just the series’ heroes who exhibit it. Even villains, albeit in a different way, occasionally pull off a commendable act of loyalty. This is best illustrated by the fact that Tomura Shigaraki and Gigantomachia from My Hero Academia are more like a master and servant than friends.
Gigantomachia is unquestionably loyal to Shigaraki and All For One. The giant is one of the series’ most powerful characters, but he is also one of its oddest. He refuses to move without a command from his master, even though the majority of his allies have already been decimated. But once a command is given, he has no hesitation in laying down his life to carry it out. Lookism has its own version of Gigantomachia and Shigaraki, though not as extreme as My Hero Academia’s villainous duo.
Who Are Jake Kim And Jerry Kwon in Lookism?
Lookism’s popularity has increased significantly as a result of its Netflix animated adaptation. However, Jake Kim and Jerry Kwon, who don’t show up until a few hundred episodes into the webtoon, are still unknown to the animated series’s viewers. Lookism is more than just a social drama about society’s obsession with beauty, as the animated adaptation has already repeatedly hinted. In actuality, it is more of an action series that deals with turf wars and juvenile delinquency. One of the gang leaders Daniel Park, who plays Park Hyeong-seok in the animated series, must battle is Jake Kim.
Big Deal’s leader is Jake, and Jerry Kwon is his right-hand man. Jerry refers to himself as Jake’s sword and follows him around wherever he goes. While they are technically the leaders of a gang, later episodes of the webtoon will reveal that they aren’t necessarily evil. They simply want to defend their territory, and they are willing to shed blood and sweat to do so.
Similarities Between Jake and Jerry from Lookism and Gigantomachia and Shigaraki from MHA
Even though Jake and Jerry eventually become “good guys,” they are the series’ main antagonists at first. Having said that, both of them have incredible fighting abilities and continue to improve even now. However, that isn’t what connects them to Shigaraki and Gigantomachia from My Hero Academia. Jerry, like Gigantomachia, has sworn fealty to Jake, even referring to himself as Jake’s sword and doing exactly what Jake says.
Although Jerry is not the brightest of the group, he undoubtedly has some punch. In fact, his fighting strategy entails using his overwhelming strength to defeat his adversaries. Because of his loyalty, Jerry also hides his true power; he doesn’t want to surpass Jake in any way, so he only exercises it when no one is looking.
The main members of the Paranormal Liberation Front are riding on Gigantomachia as he rushes to Shigaraki in a scene from My Hero Academia Season 6. In a scene similar to this, Jake attempts to kidnap the leader of another gang but must travel alone in the current arc of Lookism. Jerry and the other Big Deal members are tasked with defending their territory in the meantime. When Jerry learns that Jake is in a difficult situation, he loses control and tries to run toward his boss.
