Jujutsu Kaisen will take a one-week break following the release of Chapter 226.

According to Redbeanime, Jujutsu Kaisen will return in Weekly Shōnen Jump Issue #31. The series will take a week off after launching Chapter 226 on June 18. The manga will skip a week on June 25, but fans don’t have to wait too long because the next chapter will drop on July 2. Currently, there is no explanation for why the manga will take a one-week hiatus, although fans speculate it may be because mangaka Gege Akutami will draw a new Jujutsu Kaisen cover for the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine to celebrate the airing of Season 2.

Currently one of the most popular manga series to date, Jujutsu Kaisen recently began the “Shinjuku Showdown” arc, which features Satoru Gojo being freed from the Prison Realm after more than 1,000 days of captivity. His release from the Prison Realm has consequently activated the confrontation between Gojo and Sukuna, making the fight between the two one of the most exciting battles in the series as the strongest sorcerer meets the King of Curses. Chapter 225 ended with an enormous cliffhanger with many fans worrying about Gojo’s fate.

The Jujutsu Kaisen Manga and Anime

Jujutsu Kaisen first began as a four-chapter series called Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School in 2017 which later turned into a prequel called Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump in March 2018 and currently has 22 tankōbon volumes as of March 2023. Two novels, written by Ballad Kitaguni, have been released, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Summer of Ashes, Autumn of Dust and Jujutsu Kaisen: Thorny Road at Dawn, the latter of which will release on April 25, 2023.

The manga earned an anime adaptation, through MAPPA, in October 2020. Season 1 aired with 24 episodes under Sunghoo Park’s direction. Park later went on to direct the film adaptation of the prequel Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in December 2021. Shōta Goshozono replaced Park as the director for Season 2. The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will air on July 6 and adapt the “Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu” and “Shibuya Incident” arcs.

Jujutsu Kaisen releases Chapter 226 on June 18 and fans can read it on Viz Media. Chapter 227 will release on July 2.
