Attack on Titan Fan Explains How Naruto Could Have Stopped the Rumbling

An Attack on Titan fan theorized that Naruto could have stopped Eren from starting the Rumbling.

A recent post on the “Daily Dose of Anime” page presents an image of Naruto holding his hand to Eren, telling him, “We could end this now. isn’t too late.” Naruto fans will find this scene reminiscent of the times that the ninja convinced his enemies not to follow through with their evil plans. According to the post, Naruto’s “understanding of how villains think and his power to make them his allies through ‘talk no jutsu'” would have been enough to stop Eren.

What is “The Rumbling” in Attack on Titan?

Attack on Titan’s last season is currently airing and covering the fallout of Eren’s decision to free a massive horde of Colossal Titans from their prison on Paradis Island, allowing them to decimate the planet’s inhabitants. For many fans, this choice transformed the one-time hero into a villain, despite Eren’s belief that the Rumbling is the only way to ultimately free Paradis and get sufficient revenge on the Marleyan Empire for using the Titans as weapons in the past. However, due to Eren’s actions during the most recent episodes, some fans now believe he has second thoughts about his plan. Although Mikasa and Armin are trying to stop “The Rumbling,” Eren chooses not to imprison or hinder them in any way, suggesting that he actually wants them to defeat him.

While the Survey Corps may still be able to turn things around, The Rumbling has already caused major devastation and worldwide panic. It even caused the death of a certain beloved character, who died while giving the scientists enough time to execute a crucial plan and buying time for the other Corps members to escape Paradis. Dozens of Attack on Titan fans on social media mourned this character, who was present in the series since the anime’s first season.

Part 3 of Attack on Titan: The Final Season premiered on March 3. Hulu and Crunchyroll are streaming the series for viewers outside of Japan. However, Crunchyroll recently came under fire for not simulcasting Part 3’s highly-anticipated one-hour premiere at the exact release time. Shortly thereafter, the series’ fans heavily criticized the platform on Twitter for failing to prioritize the popular series, which is currently the highest-rated anime on MyAnimeList with an average audience score of 9.18 stars out of ten. After a moderate delay, Crunchyroll uploaded the episode titled Attack on Titan: The Final Season – Final Chapters Special 1. Part 3’s second half will debut later this year.

Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga is available in English from Kodansha US.
