Inosuke Hashibira, the untamable wildcard of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, is brought to life in a new light.
A cosplayer named Shashy gave Instagram users a look at her impressive rendition of the classic Demon Slayer character. She included a picture of herself standing in front of tall grass with the character’s iconic costume — excluding his boar mask — and his dangerous swords. One is placed over her shoulder, and the other is pointed toward the camera with an aggressive attitude that perfectly captures the overly excitable supporting player.
The Details in the Inosuke Genderswapped Cosplay
Shashy manages to capture many of the details of the character in this cosplay. Firstly, she sports an impressive animal hyde on her pants, accurately replicating the source material. In addition, she uses a wig and makeup to display Inosuke’s hair and face in full detail. This includes his long black locks with blue tips and elongated eyelashes, which often cause him to be described as “feminine” or “pretty” in the anime. While the cosplayer does not feature the character’s most well-known wardrobe item, his boar mask, the piece still presents an anime-accurate look at the character.
Inosuke is a demon slayer in the hit series, originally written by Koyoharu Gotogue and animated by Ufotable, who acts as the tonal opposite of the protagonist. While Tanjiro is thoughtful, logical and well-meaning, Inosuke is unpredictable, chaotic, overly violent and always seeking battle. The character quickly became one of the most popular members of the ensemble thanks to his over-the-top energy, inability to pronounce Tanjiro’s name, impressive fighting skills and more. Unfortunately for fans of the character, he has not appeared heavily in the show’s latest season.
Demon Slayer’s Currently Airing Swordsmith Village Arc
Demon Slayer is currently airing its third installment, which covers the “Swordsmith Village” arc. The next episode will be the anime’s season finale and will run as a 70-minute special. This story arc follows Tanjiro and Nezuko as they go to the titular village to get a new sword, only to find a demon threat within the town. They battle against the Upper-Rank Demons alongside Genya Shinazugawa and two Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira and Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Hashira. The latest episode delved into the latter’s backstory, explaining the origin of her iconic green socks.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s anime is available to watch on Crunchyroll. Additionally, the manga can be read on the Viz Media website in full with a Shonen Jump subscription.
