Demon Slayer Season 3’s Theatrical Release

Although the Swordsmith Village Arc won’t officially begin until April 9, Demon Slayer fans can experience the first episode through the theatrical release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – “To the Swordsmith Village” on March 3. The special feature comprises Episodes 10 and 11 of the Entertainment District Arc and the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc, all presented in 4K definition with remastered audio. Screenings of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – “To the Swordsmith Village” began in Japan on Feb 3, while an L.A. premiere was held on Feb. 18. Reviews praise Demon Slayer Season 3 as “another engaging, stunning chapter in Nezuko and Tanjiro’s story.”

Set during Taishō era Japan, Demon Slayer follows Tanjiro Kamado as he enlists in the Demon Slayer Corps after a demon brutally murders his family. The only survivor of the assault is Nezuko Kamado, Tanjiro’s younger sister, who became a demon that retains little of her humanity. Tanjiro is dead-set on avenging the death of his family, as well as finding a way to bring his sister back. Koyoharu Gotouge wrote and illustrated the manga series.

The Demon Slayer manga began on Feb. 15, 2016, and concluded its run on May 18, 2020, totaling 23 volumes. An anime adaptation by Ufotable started on April 6, 2019. A 2020 anime movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, became a box-office hit worldwide and was later adapted into the anime TV series for Season 2.

Demon Slayer is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
