The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball

Ever since Goku’s debut in 1985, Dragon Ball has been well-noted for its unique hairstyles. Most of the most notable hairstyles in the franchise are spiky and wild like many of the Saiyan warriors. Goku and Vegeta are some of the best examples of this, and it’s brilliant how their hairstyle flows so well into their Saiyan blood.

However, there are some hairstyles like Trunks, who manages to give a unique spin to what’s typically seen in the series while maintaining some of the best hairstyles. Most characters even get better hairstyles with their various transformations like Super Saiyan. Regardless, Dragon Ball is home to some of the coolest hairstyles in anime.

10 Launch Had Beautiful Curls That Shifted Color

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_0

Launch has mostly disappeared from the Dragon Ball franchise, but she was a major character in the original series. The gimmick surrounding her character was a personality shift whenever she sneezed.

This transition didn’t just shift her personality, but it also changed her facial expressions, eyes, and of course her hair color. Whether it’s blonde or blue, Launch has wonderful long thick curly hair. There aren’t many examples of hair like this anymore in Dragon Ball with so many characters either having straight-stringy hair or big spiky hair. Launch’s hair remains iconic, cool, and unique.

9 The Mohawk Looked The Best On Zamasu

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_1

The Mohawk hairstyle has appeared numerous times in Dragon Ball on characters like Android 16 and Uub. However, it hasn’t looked better than it did on Zamasu, one of the most powerful villains in Dragon Ball. Most Supreme Kais and their assistants tend to have a similar hairstyle, but Zamasu’s flowed better into his characters than the others.

Zamasu’s mohawk had an almost emo style to it with the way it flowed down past his cheek and hung just above his eye. It matched his personality and clothing choice perfectly. It also helped give a sense to the viewer that Zamasu might be a villain and Dragon Ball Super did a fantastic job to keep fans guessing whether he was until his true colors were shown.

8 Raditz’s Long Hair Flowed Too Well

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_2

Raditz is one of Dragon Ball’s most underrated villains and one of the most wasted characters in Dragon Ball. He is the primary reason for the major shift in Dragon Ball, the reason Goku learns his heritage, and the older brother of Goku.

Yet despite this, he only appears briefly in the series. He has an incredible design too with some of the best Saiyan hair seen in the series. It’s incredibly long and has a similar appearance to the Super Saiyan 3 form. He also has a widow’s peak much like Vegeta’s. Despite Raditz’s hairstyle being ridiculously long, it manages to look cool and it flows excellently.

7 Goten Has Developed His Own Style Different From His Father & Brother

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_3

Fans had been begging for Goten to grow up in Dragon Ball Super for years. Finally, thanks to Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, he did. Goten receives the same hairstyle he does at the end of Dragon Ball Z which many fans have compared to his grandmother, Gine.

This event of course only happens about a year before Super Hero, so it makes sense why his hair looks this way. Thankfully, it looks completely different from anything Goku or Gohan has had which makes Goten finally feel like his own individual character. In the Dragon Ball Super manga, fans also finally got to see what this hairstyle looks like as a Super Saiyan.

6 Gohan’s Super Saiyan Hair In The Cell Games

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_4

Seeing Goku and Gohan in their Super Saiyan forms after training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber during the Cell Games was awesome. Gohan underwent a lot of different hairstyles throughout Dragon Ball Z, but his Super Saiyan hairstyle at this point in the series is the best.

Gohan’s hair feels somewhat similar to Goku’s hair in his base form while maintaining a style unique to Gohan. The base form design is slightly less appealing, though it looked fantastic in the Bojack Unbound film. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero tried to bring this hairstyle back for Gohan, but it just didn’t look the same on adult Gohan as it did in the Cell Games.

5 Future Trunks Looked The Best With His Long Hair

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_5

Future Trunks has always had epic-looking hair regardless of the length. The same goes for all of his Super Saiyan transformations, especially his Super Saiyan God form in Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Trunks’s best look is his long hairstyle which is perfectly portrayed in the Bojack Unbound film. This hairstyle sets Trunks apart from the rest of the Saiyans in multiple different ways.

Trunks has violet hair instead of black and his hair is stringy and flat rather than tall and spiky. His Super Saiyan form also feels especially different, though it often gets compared to Broly’s Legendary Super Saiyan form. Unfortunately, fans didn’t get to see a long-haired Trunks in Dragon Ball Super, but it’s possible present Trunks will give fans what they want.

4 Vegeta’s Widow’s Peak Shouldn’t Look As Cool As It Does

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_6

There aren’t too many varying differences between Vegeta’s hairstyles. This is of course due to his hair already spiking upward, so there’s not a dramatic change when he transforms into a Super Saiyan. This doesn’t take away from Vegeta’s epic hairstyle though and sometimes a different color enhances the look.

Vegeta’s hairstyle with its widow’s peak looks epic, even though it should appear incredibly goofy. In some cases, his hairstyle is a little bit different from as a child where he’s given bangs instead of a widow’s peak, but this does break with the canon of how Saiyan hairstyles work in Dragon Ball.

3 Yamcha’s Long Hair Remains Iconic

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_7

Yamcha is a hated Dragon Ball character who doesn’t deserve the treatment he gets. So much so, that even the Dragon Ball Super anime poked fun at him and played with Yamcha fans’ emotions by thinking he would enter the Tournament of Power. However, in his glory days, he was a beloved character who always had an epic appearance.

Yamcha’s long curly spiky hair has always been one of the best looks in Dragon Ball and has remained as one of the most iconic in the franchise. This, mixed with the scars he gets from training before the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament helped give Yamcha one of the best designs in Dragon Ball.

2 Goku & All Of His Varying Super Saiyan Hairstyles

The 10 Best Hairstyles In Dragon Ball_8

Goku is the character that began the trends regarding epic hairstyles in Dragon Ball. Even upon his initial debut, Goku’s spiky hair was fun to look at. As the series progressed, it became more specific and refined until it was shaped into the consistent style fans see today.

Goku also possesses multiple Super Saiyan transformations, all of which have their own unique looks with some of the best-designed transformations in Dragon Ball. His Super Saiyan form already possesses one of the cleanest appearing in the series, but his Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3 designs are also fantastic improvements to what he’s had. Despite all of his great appearances, Goku’s best hairstyle overall likely comes from Dragon Ball GT with his Super Saiyan 4 form.
