Chainsaw Man Fan Video Depicts Kobeni and the Violence Fiend as Chaotic Besties

A Chainsaw Man fan imagined what two of the series’ most chaotic devil hunters talk about in their downtime.

The TikTok posted by user Reesebewithyou depicts Kobeni and the Violence Fiend discussing the love lives of Mickey Mouse and Hello Kitty, capturing the dynamic between the two Public Safety partners in a hilarious fashion. The clip borrows audio from Vshojo VTubers Fulgar Oivd and Ironmouse, matching it perfectly to digital sketches of the two Chainsaw Man characters. The creator captioned the TikTok by stating they’d like to imagine the pair have conversations like this right after slaying a devil, a scenario that seems perfectly plausible given how other Chainsaw Man characters celebrate victory.

Season 1 of the Chainsaw Man anime concluded on Dec. 28 with episode 12, titled “Katana vs. Chainsaw.” The episode covered the resolution of the manga’s “Katana Man” arc, providing an emotional credits sequence featuring Denji, Power, and Aki, as they celebrate surviving the terrorist threat of arc’s titular antagonist with a nice family meal. While there is no news of a second season at the time of writing, the season finale teased more to come with the introduction of new characters and new mysteries that will have fans eagerly awaiting news of a renewal.

Kobeni and The Violence Fiend’s Secrets

Kobeni and the Violence Fiend are two characters with unresolved mysteries of their own, which viewers will be hoping to see unraveled in future seasons. In episode 7 of Season 1, titled “The Taste of a Kiss,” Kobeni mentions she holds a devil contract but claims the devil’s identity is a secret, leaving us to speculate about the extent of her abilities. Meanwhile, Episode 11, “Mission Start,” poses an intriguing question about the Violence Fiend, as squad captain Kishibe states that the Violence Fiend should never remove his distinctive plague doctor mask under any circumstances. Public Safety considers the Violence Fiend dangerous enough that he has to be shackled by poison gas pumped through his face covering, setting a potentially thrilling reveal of his identity and powers.

While anime viewers will have to wait for word from Chainsaw Man producers MAPPA, manga readers can continue to follow Denji’s story. The series returned to weekly publication in Shonen Jump in 2022 after a nearly two-year hiatus, beginning its new “Academy Saga.” Although the latest release, Vol. 13, is not yet available in English, previous volumes of the manga are available in North America from Viz Media.

The first season of the Chainsaw Man anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
