Attack on Titan The Final Season Debuts Manga-Accurate Key Visual

A brand-new key visual is giving anime fans a glimpse at what Attack on Titan: The Final Season – Part 3 has in store.

The image was revealed during a special event celebrating the upcoming season and shows multiple members of the Survey Corps, including Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, facing off against Eren Jaeger’s Final Titan, a horrifying and skeletal combination of the Attack Titan, Founding Titan and War Hammer Titan.

Attack on Titan’s Protagonist Twist

Based on Hajime Isayama’s best-selling manga series of the same name, Attack on Titan is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity cowers and hides from the titular monstrous humanoid giants in walled cities. The story follows the growth and evolution of Eren, a young man who initially desired the extermination of all Titans after they destroy his hometown and devour his mother in front of him. While he is often framed as a hero (albeit a very aggressive and angry one) throughout the early parts of the narrative, Eren eventually reveals himself to be humanity’s ultimate enemy.

Wit Studio (Ranking of Kings) produced the first three seasons of the anime series with MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen) taking over for Attack on Titan: The Final Season. Yuuki Kaji (The Seven Deadly Sins) stars as Eren alongside Marina Inoue (My Hero Academia) as Armin and Yui Ishikawa (The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent) as Mikasa. Both Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 1 and Part 2 have been massive successes with Part 1 notably winning Anime of the Year, Best Antagonist and Best Opening Sequence at the 6th Crunchyroll Anime Awards and Part 2 being named the most in-demand show of 2021.

Attack on Titan fans have more to be excited about than just the upcoming new season. Surprisingly, the hyper-violent and bloody series recently crossed over with none other than the classic kids’ anime Doraemon in a short episode titled “Relative Titan.” Moreover, a stage adaptation of Attack on Titan will debut at the Orix Theater in Osaka, Japan, on Jan. 7. Tickets for the show went on sale for the public on Nov. 5.

While an exact premiere date has not been announced at the time of writing, Attack on Titan: The Final Season – Part 3 is slated for release sometime in 2023. For now, fans who want to revisit the apocalyptic events of Attack on Titan: The Final Season can find both Part 1 and Part 2 on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
