Attack on Titan Fans Furious Over Crunchyroll Missing Part 3’s Premiere Time

Fans flocked to social media to express frustration at Crunchyroll’s missing premiere date for the highly anticipated final season of the massively popular Attack on Titan series.

Crunchyroll users were unable to hide their disappointment when they realized the latest season premiere of the beloved anime Attack on Titan was notably absent from the streaming service’s offered titles. Fans shared their anxiety online, with some claiming they waited for two hours after the episode aired in Japan for news regarding the show’s schedule. Others jokingly warned they would visit Crunchyroll’s office and ask questions in person. Many users additionally gathered on Crunchyroll’s official Twitter page, where they flooded previous posts with pictures of characters from Attack on Titan and comments demanding the release of the hour-long special episode.

Where AoT Final Season Part 3 Begins

Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 picks up immediately after the climactic events of Part 2, wherein Eren Yeager used the power of the Founding Titan to unleash an army of Colossal Titans from within the walls of Paradis Island. The season will reportedly premiere in two parts, with half of the season debuting in early March and the other half sometime later in 2023.

Several teasers were previously released in the weeks leading up to Part 3, giving fans a glimpse of the series’ darkening themes and Eren’s emotional turmoil. Several channels additionally uploaded the official opening for Part 3, “Under the Tree,” which was performed by the Japanese band, SiM, who also composed the opening song for the last season. The studio further promoted the latest season with a set of illustrations featuring the designs of several fan-favorite Attack on Titan characters, which included Levi Ackerman, Mikasa Ackerman and Hange Zoë.

The End of the Final Season

Though the beloved series is nearing its end, some viewers are worried Attack on Titan will be unable to come to a satisfying conclusion, being that the ending for the original manga was notoriously divisive amongst the fanbase. Attack on Titan mangaka Hajime Isayama additionally apologized and admitted that he also shared some reservations regarding the final arc. “I still struggle on this point,” he said. “I’m very sorry about that.” Despite his worries, Isayama also stated he was thankful for the fans who appreciated the series’ conclusion, and he was happy they found enjoyment in his work.
