The story is the most crucial aspect of successful anime, but the characters are what keep viewers watching. Every fan has a favourite character, a character they identify with, and a character they despise. Many admirers, however, regard their husbando as the most significant figure.
The husbando resembles a waifu. It’s not necessarily a married character, but it’s one that fans adore. The best husbandos are sympathetic individuals who lavish attention on their lovers, which is the type of mate that people desire in their real life.
10 Kyo Sohma (Fruits Basket)
Kyo is first hostile and harsh. He picks battles with Yuki to demonstrate his superiority. However, he withdraws from people because he is frightened of getting too close to them.
Kyo is a genuinely nice and protective person. He adores Tohru and will go to any length to make her happy. He believes in her, yet he will sacrifice his own happiness to ensure her safety. He’s the ideal type of partner, which is why Fruits Basket fans like him.
9 Tengen Uzui (Demon Slayer)
Most people can barely manage to have one partner, but Tengen from Demon Slayer has three, and he’s a perfect husband to all of them. Tengen takes his job as a Hashira seriously but values his loved ones’ lives over his duty.
Tengen even tells his wives to abandon a mission if they will be killed. Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru have very different personalities, and Tengen knows how to cater to all of their needs. Someone who’s strong and empathetic makes the perfect partner because he’s strong enough to protect people, but he can also sympathize with people’s problems.
8 Tamaki Suoh (Ouran High School Host Club)
Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club is a bit of an idiot who’s unaware of how common people live their lives. Even instant coffee is fascinating to him. Unfortunately, his interest in the lives of poor people can come across as condescending, which is why Haruhi finds him so obnoxious.
Tamaki can come across as rude, but he cares a lot about people’s happiness, which is why he starts the Host Club. A person’s status in life doesn’t mean much to him. He treats Haruhi no different from any of his other friends, and everyone respects him for that.
7 Kakashi (Naruto)
When Kakashi was young, he believed completing the mission was more important than anything else. He was even willing to let his comrade, Rin, die during the Third Shinobi War. However, Obito helps Kakashi change his perspective, which is why he’s so protective of Team 7.
Kakashi doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would make a good teacher, but Kakashi is great with kids and empathetic toward their feelings. He reassures Sakura when Naruto and Sasuke are at each other’s throats, and he takes responsibility for his kids’ mistakes like any good teacher would.
6 Victor (Yuri!!! On ICE)
Victor from Yuri!!! On ICE is a good-looking man, but he isn’t the type to let his looks go to his head. He struggles to understand Yuri’s feelings, but he’s quick to adapt, and he accepts when he’s done something to hurt others.
Victor is an example of a sought-after man that lives up to the hype. He’s passionate about skating, but he doesn’t see himself as better than his competition. Victor draws inspiration from Yuri when Yuri does his routine, which drives him to help train Yuri to be a better skater.
5 Gabimaru (Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku)
When Gabimaru is introduced in Hell’s Paradise, he is listless. He’s barely interested in living even though he’s nearly impossible to kill. However, there is one thing that makes him want to live, and that’s his wife, Yui.
Gabimaru is a ruthless killer, but he’ll do anything to make his wife happy. He’s even willing to do the impossible task of finding an elixir of immortality just to be with her again. Despite the distance between him and Yui, he remains loyal to her. When Yuzuriha tries to seduce him, he reminds her that he is a married man. That kind of loyalty is something every person wants in a partner.
4 Hak (Yona Of The Dawn)
Hak from Yona of the Dawn likes to tease Yona. They bicker like an old married couple, but when push comes to shove, he will protect Yona with his life.
Hak is a noble warrior who refuses to give up on his loyalties, even when the kingdom is overthrown. Considering his immature personality, it’s amazing how smart and considerate he actually is. When Yona isn’t taking care of herself after her father’s murder, Hak is the one that makes sure she’s okay.
3 Nanami (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Nanami is a hard man. Even when battling cursed spirits, he keeps to a schedule like any good businessman. Nanami appears hostile, but he cares for others.
Nanami even exorcises a cursed demon from a cashier’s shoulder after discovering it has been haunting her. Nanami is one of Itadori’s best mentors in Jujutsu Kaisen, especially given Gojo’s immature behaviour. Nanami recognises Itadori’s strength, but he also remembers that Itadori is a child who is still learning.
2 Aizawa (My Hero Academia)
Aizawa may not be the number one hero in My Hero Academia, but he is the most honorable hero. Even Shigaraki, who hates heroes, has acknowledged how cool Aizawa can be. However, it’s not just Aizawa’s heroic nature that fans have grown to love about him.
Aizawa’s a strict teacher but endlessly kind toward his students. When they struggle with their emotions, Aizawa is there for them. He even makes sure to get on their level and hear them out. Aizawa has a quirky personality, but he’s the most level-headed and compassionate man in anime, and fans are obsessed with him because of it.
1 Howl (Howl’s Moving Castle)
Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle is the blueprint for anime husbandos. He’s clever and charismatic, with a mysterious side that makes fans want to learn more about him.
Howl may have an ego, but he doesn’t mistreat Sophie even when she’s in the body of an old woman. Howl needed Sophie in order to save himself, and he easily could have used her as the Witch of the Waste did. However, Howl is a much better man than rumors lead people to believe.
