The third season of Demon Slayer has been great thus far, and its first episode is especially memorable because of Kokushibo’s debut. Kokushibo is part of the Twelve Demon Moons and holds the position of Upper Rank One, making him the strongest demon alive other than Muzan Kibutsuji. He possesses his own Demon Slayer Mark, and as a demon, he has immense speed, strength, durability, and reflexes.
Kokushibo can also regenerate at incredible speeds and use his own breathing style, amplified by his Blood Demon Art, allowing him to create crescent moon blades. Given his demon powers and sword mastery, Kokushibo is a formidable force in battle. There are plenty of anime characters he can overwhelm, but there are also characters who can easily beat him.
10 Anos Voldigoad (The Misfit Of Demon King Academy)
Anos Voldigoad is The Misfit of Demon King Academy‘s main protagonist and arguably the most powerful isekai anime character alive. His magic power is immense, to the point that he can manipulate time itself.
With his Magic Eyes of Destruction, Anos can destroy anything in his line of sight, meaning he can end Kokushibo before he even draws his sword. Kokushibo may be a talented swordsman, but Anos wields Venuzdonoa, a demon sword that can destroy anything in existence, including objects or individuals who are supposed to be indestructible.
9 Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto (Bleach)
Captain Commander Yamamoto may not be one of Bleach‘s most popular characters, but he was certainly one of the strongest. His spiritual power was incredible, and if he wanted to, he could destroy Kokushibo with a single swing of his Zanpakuto. His sword was called Ryujin Jakka, the oldest and most powerful fire-type Zanpakuto.
In its Shikai form, the blade is engulfed in fire, and the flames can incinerate anything out of existence. With Bankai, anything his blade touches is instantly eradicated, and his body is engulfed in heat that reaches up to 15 million degrees, meaning that Kokushibo would die if he gets too close.
8 Madara Uchiha (Naruto)
In Naruto, the Uchiha is one of the world’s strongest ninja clans, and Madara is arguably the strongest Uchiha in history. His immense chakra reserves allow Madara to unleash devastating Fire-Style ninjutsu that can incinerate a wide area.
Kokushibo’s attacks may be fast, but Madara can easily avoid them thanks to the Sharingan, an ocular ability that allows him to read his enemy’s movements. If Kokushibo’s attacks are too fast, Madara can summon his Susanoo, a colossal samurai-like avatar. The Susanoo protects Madara from melee attacks, and a single swing of its sword can alter entire landscapes.
7 Sesshomaru (Inuyasha)
Sesshomaru starts off as a villain in Inuyasha, but he becomes a caring individual. Unlike Kokushibo, Sesshomaru was born a demon and is the son of the Great Dog Demon who ruled the East. He possessed superhuman physical abilities and could transform into a massive wolf-like creature.
Sesshomaru could create a whip-like strand of yellow-green energy that can cut through flesh and pierce armor, and he currently wields Bakusaiga, a demon sword with the power of Decomposition. This ability corrosively affects organic matter, which would counter Kokushibo’s regeneration.
6 Saitama (One Punch Man)
Saitama is the main protagonist of One-Punch Man, and he happens to be one of the strongest anime characters of all time. He initially became a hero for fun, but he has been dealing with an existential crisis because he finds little joy in fighting.
This is because Saitama has become the strongest being in existence. His physical capabilities are all beyond superhuman levels, and he is so durable that no one has been able to actually injure him. If Kokushibo attacked, his sword would undoubtedly shatter. Very few individuals have survived Saitama’s initial punch, and if he were to punch Kokushibo, the demon’s body would likely explode.
5 Tomura Shigaraki (My Hero Academia)
In My Hero Academia, most of humanity possesses some type of power called a Quirk, and Tomura Shigaraki’s Decay Quirk is fairly unique. At first, it allowed him to disintegrate anything that he touched with his fingers, but it has been amplified since Tomura’s re-awakening.
Decay can now spread through solid objects, and it is powerful enough to wipe out large chunks of a city. If Tomura’s Quirk were to touch Kokushibo in any way, no amount of Upper Moon regeneration would be able to save him from disintegration.
4 Father (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
Father serves as the major antagonist of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood; his goal is to become a being who does not have to abide by the laws of the universe. He basically wants to become God so that he can control creation itself.
Father briefly gains this power, and in doing so, he becomes all-powerful. Kokushibo may be a demon, but he does not have the power to create a miniature sun in the palm of his hand. It would be very hard for Kokushibo to get near Father because a barrier of electricity-like energy protects his body.
3 Escanor (The Seven Deadly Sins)
At certain times of the day, Escanor is the weakest member of The Seven Deadly Sins, but at other times, he is the strongest member of the Sins. His power is called Sunshine, and it allows him to gain immense power during the day. Thanks to his immense strength during the day, he can wield his giant ornate axe, which can easily cut through Kokushibo.
At noon, when the sun is at its peak, Escanor is said to be invincible, and his body produces so much heat that he can burn nearby objects. He can create a miniature sun and pierce through almost anything with his index finger.
2 Akainu (One Piece)
Akainu, the current Fleet Admiral of the Marines, is one of the strongest characters in One Piece. He can use two forms of Haki, including an advanced form of Armament Haki, allowing him to emit an invisible burst of energy to block special attacks.
Akainu’s trump card is the Magma-Magma Fruit, a Logia Devil Fruit that allows him to create and transform into magma. The heat of this magma is so intense that it can easily melt Kokushibo’s body. Like other Logia users, Akainu is gifted with intangibility, and since Kokushibo cannot use Haki, all of his attacks would harmlessly pass through Akainu’s body.
1 Beerus (Dragon Ball Super)
The Dragon Ball franchise has been around for over three decades and is still going strong. Fans have met plenty of powerful beings over the years, but Beerus is on a completely different level because he serves as Universe 7’s God of Destruction.
If Kokushibo attempted to attack Beerus, his sword would shatter, and his Blood Demon Art would make Beerus laugh. As a God of Destruction, Beerus can literally destroy planets with a single finger, so Kokushibo stands no chance. Beerus can also use Hakai to completely delete the Upper-Moon from existence.
