Why Did Suguru Geto Become A Villain In Jujutsu Kaisen? Answered - Animeranku
Suguru Geto was the primary antagonist of the Jujutsu Kaisen Universe till his demise following the events of the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons (Jujutsu Kasien 0: The Movie). He was one of the 4 Special Grade Sorcerers on the planet. Special Grade is a ranking that is given out to those with powers that are beyond comprehension. That should tell you just how powerful Suguru was. However, he wasn’t always like this.

Suguru's exceptional quality lay in his Inherent Ability: Cursed Spirit Manipulation. His distinctiveness stemmed from a method where, following the vanquishing of a Cursed Spirit, he would assimilate them into a diminutive sphere which he would subsequently ingest. This granted him the capability to summon them at his discretion, harnessing their abilities in ways that suited his intentions. In instances where the discrepancy in strength surpassed two levels, he could assimilate the cursed spirit sans the necessity of defeating them. Thus far, no known constraints exist regarding the quantity of spirits he can absorb.

Beyond this, he boasted an extensive reservoir of cursed energy, coupled with an intimate mastery of the discipline, granting him access to more intricate techniques. Although he might outwardly resemble a Shikigami User, the technique employed is vastly disparate. While Shikigami Users summon creature-like entities akin to cursed spirits as familiars, Suguru's summons are the very cursed spirits themselves. Uncommon among shinigami users, Suguru also excelled in close-quarters combat and martial arts, setting him apart with an impressive prowess.

What Happened To Suguru Geto?

Suguru's transformation into an antagonist was catalyzed by his failure to shield Riko Amanai from the ruthless actions of the Time Vessel Association. As a Jujutsu Sorcerer, it's imperative to safeguard humans who are incapable of perceiving cursed spirits. Yet, witnessing the Association's extreme measures to eliminate an innocent young girl ignited conflicting perspectives within him regarding the broader human populace. The sight of them rejoicing upon discovering Amanai's lifeless form inflicted a fracture in his resolve and planted seeds of uncertainty within him.

He exerted considerable effort to suppress these feelings, attempting to bury them deep within. He resolved to stay focused, to merely fulfill his obligations. However, with the passage of time, this task grew progressively arduous. The loss of Amanai affected not only Suguru but also Satoru Gojo. The tragedy prompted Gojo to refine his Limitless Technique, coupling it with the Reversed Cursed Technique to achieve a state of perpetual activation. This transformation propelled him to the apex of strength, allowing him to undertake solo missions, leaving Suguru to navigate a similar path.

During that juncture, Suguru found an occasion to engage in a conversation with Yuki Tsukomo, a fellow Special Grade Sorcerer. Despite her esteemed rank, Tsukomo remained detached from affiliations with sorcerers. In her view, Jujutsu Sorcerers merely addressed the symptoms rather than the underlying causes. She expounded upon how curses emanated from the seepage of curse energy from non-sorcerers, proposing that if the entire populace were to become Jujutsu Sorcerers, the very manifestation of curses could be eradicated.

Suguru introduced an alternative perspective: the elimination of non-sorcerers rather than their transformation into sorcerers. Tsukomo acknowledged the potential efficacy of this approach, conceding its straightforwardness. However, she refrained from entertaining the notion due to its extreme nature. This encounter likely marked the inception of Suguru's idea. Following this, the passing of Yu Haibara, one of Suguru's junior colleagues, profoundly affected him. Although pushed to his limits, Suguru did not shatter. That moment awaited him during a solo mission to a village.

After exorcising the spirit Suguru saw that the villagers were keeping hostage two young girls Mimiko and Nanako due to their abilities. Even though the cursed spirit responsible was removed the villagers believed the girls were at fault and wanted to kill them. It was at the moment Suguru Geto breaks. He burned down the entire village killing its 120+ residents in the process. He rescued the girls and brought them into his fold.

He would then go on to take over the Time Vessel Association and other similar associations. He used their money and influence to increase find more sorcerers to join his team. From his millions of followers, he was able to collect curses big and small adding them to his collection. In the end, his thirst for power is what led to his downfall as he died at the hands of Yuta Okkoutsu. Even though Suguru Geto died his body lived on.

Where Is Suguru Geto Now?

Following his demise, Kenjaku stumbled upon him and orchestrated the transplantation of his brain into Suguru's corporeal form. Thereafter, employing the reversed curse technique, he undertook the task of mending Suguru's physical vessel. The vestiges of this intervention can be discerned in the stitching scar gracing Suguru's forehead, a visible mark from the events transpiring in Season 1. For those unfamiliar, Kenjaku emerges as a Jujutsu Sorcerer who boasts an age surpassing a millennium. His inherent technique furnishes him with the ability to interchange bodies with fellow Jujutsu Sorcerers, potentially granting him longevity as long as new vessels remain at his disposal.

What's more, he possesses the capacity to assimilate the knowledge and expertise inherent to the original owner of the body, effectively making it his own. He can even wield techniques originating from the preceding body he inhabited. Whether this ability extends to non-sorcerers remains ambiguous, though any such endeavor would seemingly yield negligible advantages. Kenjaku's purpose revolves around propelling the evolution of humanity through cursed energy. Over countless centuries, he has perpetrated various heinous acts under the guise of advancing evolution.
