Obi-Wan Kenobi star Joel Edgerton has made it clear that he’s just as in the dark about season 2 of the Disney Plus show as the Star Wars fans are.

The first edition of Obi-Wan Kenobi was set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). The series saw Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) embark on a mission to save Princess Leia from the Galactic Empire. This leads to a showdown with his ex-apprentice, Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen). Obi-Wan Kenobi received generally positive reviews from fans and critics. Since season 1’s conclusion, fans have wondered if the show will return for more seasons. However, the Disney Plus series’ fate still seems to be uncertain.

During an interview with Slash Film, Joel Edgerton indicated that he’s unaware of anything regarding Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 and whether Lucasfilm is considering another edition of the show. Edgerton said, “I haven’t heard. Either it’s happening and they don’t want me or it, I don’t know, I haven’t, no. The short answer is no, I haven’t. And I’m not even faking that I don’t know.” Additionally, the actor mentioned that if there’s an Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, and he’s involved, his appearance would be different.

If it does happen, and I am in it, I’ll probably be wearing brown, or some shade of brown. That’s all I know.

Edgerton plays Owen Lars in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker’s step-uncle and surrogate father. This is not the first time the actor has played the character. He previously appeared as Lars in the 2002 movie Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Revenge of the Sith. The actor received praise for his performance in the Disney Plus series, and fans have wondered if they will ever be able to see him again in the Star Wars universe.

The rumors about Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 keep swirling around on social media, but there haven’t been any promising updates from Lucasfilm or Disney. At this year’s Star Wars Celebration event, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the second edition of Obi-Wan Kenobi was not in development. However, Kennedy didn’t reject the idea and indicated that it may happen at some point in the future. If season 2 is greenlit, it could delve into different plots, like Obi-Wan Kenobi’s training with his late Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn. Meanwhile, another storyline could feature Reva and her escape from the Galactic Empire and Darth Vader.

It’s unclear if there will be an official announcement about whether Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 will happen. But fans would want to see the character back on their screens.

Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1 is currently streaming on Disney Plus.
