Bosch: Legacy is returning to television screens in the near future, with filming wrapped on season 3 of the Amazon Freevee crime series. There were many plot threads set up in the previous series that fans are eager to see developed further in the upcoming season, with many characters confirmed to return, and others being kept under wraps.

The end of Season 2 saw Harry Bosch being confronted by his cop daughter, Maddie, after she intercepted a call from a convicted felon called Preston Borders, who claimed he conspired with Harry to kill Kurt Dockweiler. In other storylines, Honey Chandler confirmed her plans to run for district attorney, while Maurice ‘Mo’ Bassi had a big decision to make on whether to co-operate with the FBI or remain loyal to Bosch and Chandler.

Who is confirmed to return to Bosch: Legacy season 3?

Harry Bosch

There would be no Bosch: Legacy without the titular main character, Harry Bosch, who will continue his new career as a private investigator after quitting the LAPD under a cloud at the end of the original Bosch series.

Titus Welliver has played Harry Bosch for over a decade now, and there are no signs of him giving up the role anytime soon, and he is also set to make guest appearances in the debut season of the Renee Ballard spin-off series.

Honey Chandler

Honey Chandler’s role in the books was very different to her appearances in the Bosch and Bosch: Legacy television shows, as she featured more heavily, and Chandler is set for an even more prominent role in Bosch: Legacy season 3, as the defense lawyer launches a run for district attorney.

Chandler and Harry Bosch were once sworn enemies, but their relationship has developed into a very successful business partnership, after working together closely on a number of cases, including the Lexi Parks murder. Mimi Rogers has played Chandler since the very first episode of Bosch, starting off in a recurring role, before being promoted to a series regular, and rising to a co-lead in the spin-off show, Bosch: Legacy.

Maddie Bosch

When the original Bosch series began, Harry Bosch had a distant relationship with his daughter, Maddie, but as the years went by, they developed a very special bond with each other. Maddie followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the LAPD in Bosch: Legacy season 1, and she will continue her role in the Crime Reduction Unit in Bosch: Legacy season 3.

Madison Lintz’s first acting role was in Bosch, and she has risen to co-lead in the spin-off series, and is a very important character in the Bosch universe, with the potential for her to become a detective as the series progresses.

Maurice ‘Mo’ Bassi

The jazz-loving tech whizz, Maurice ‘Mo’ Bassi, was a new character addition in Bosch: Legacy, and has become a fan favorite, and a vital part of Harry Bosch’s operations, often providing the key bit of information needed to solve the cases.

His loyalty to Bosch and Chandler was put to the test at the end of Bosch: Legacy season 2, with FBI Agent Baron trying to get him to turn on his employers. Season 3 will likely reveal whether the expert hacker decides to turn on them, or remain loyal. Chang will once again return as Mo Bassi in Bosch: Legacy season 3.

Reina Vasquez

Denise G. Sanchez was another new addition to the cast of Bosch: Legacy, playing Maddie Bosch’s training officer, Reina Vasquez. She has become a vital part of the spin-off show, and season 2 teased an even bigger role for her in Bosch: Legacy season 3.

Other characters confirmed to make guest appearances in season 3

Sgt John Mankiewicz

• Scott Klace has played watch sergeant, John ‘Mank’ Mankiewicz in every season of Bosch and Bosch: Legacy. He will have a recurring role in Bosch: Legacy season 3.

Crate and Barrel

• Gregory Scott Cummins and Troy Evans play retired detectives, Crate and Barrel in Bosch: Legacy, and have made four appearances so far over two seasons. They were series regulars in the original Bosch series, and the comedy double act will make guest appearances in Bosch: Legacy season 3.

Rico Perez

• Rico Perez was a recurring character in the first two seasons of Bosch: Legacy, and ended up dating Maddie Bosch in season 2, before she ended the relationship. Anthony Gonzales will play the character again in Bosch: Legacy season 3.

Lt Don Thorne

• Mark Rolston originally played Lt Don Thorne in nine episodes of the original Bosch series, before returning in five episodes of Bosch: Legacy season 1, but after sitting out season 2, it has been confirmed he will return in season 3.

What other characters could return for season 3?

Jerry Edgar

• Harry Bosch’s former partner, Jerry Edgar, is set for his own Bosch: Legacy spin-off series in the near future, and has previously made guest appearances in Bosch: Legacy, meaning he could quite feasibly appear again in season 3.

Preston Borders

• Convicted felon, Preston Borders, re-appeared towards the end of Bosch: Legacy season 2, revealing he had links to Kurt Dockweiler’s death in prison, so he is likely to appear in season 3 to follow up this plot point, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

Jade Quinn

• Jessica Camacho played Mo Bassi’s love interest and undercover FBI agent, Jade Quinn, in six episodes of Bosch: Legacy season 2, and with that particular storyline still ongoing heading into season 3, it is likely she’ll return.

Agent Will Baron

• Anthony Michael Hall landed a major role as a villain in Reacher season 3, putting his return in Bosch: Legacy season 3 in doubt. He played Agent Will Baron, who was heading up the Carl Rogers investigation in season 2.

Scott Anderson

• Scott Anderson is the annoying journalist who has appeared in Bosch and Bosch: Legacy, and he was key in figuring out what was going on with Honey Chandler at the end of season 2, so it’s likely Eric Ladin could guest star in season 3.
