Upon the unveiling of Oshi no Ko -interlude- chapter 3, enthusiasts were treated to a fresh narrative backdrop. This particular tale doesn't hark back to the characters' origins prior to their series debut; instead, it unfurls subsequent to the Tokyo Blade's 2.5D Stage Play. Within this chapter's embrace, readers gleaned insights into Kana's perception of Akane.

The preceding chapter honed in on Melt Narushima's journey. Tasked with the role of a "pretty boy," he aspired to join a band, aiming to diminish the online critique he faced. Nevertheless, when his manager advocated for him to persist in his "pretty boy" image, Melt chose to remain on that trajectory. This decision proved instrumental as he skillfully ascended the rungs of the entertainment realm.

Commencing in Oshi no Ko -interlude- chapter 3, a tableau unfurled featuring a Director in conversation with Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa. Following their spirited performance in the 2.5D Stage Play Tokyo Blade, both actresses ascended the echelons of popularity. This momentum catalyzed when the sponsor's daughter herself became an ardent devotee of the duo, culminating in what seemed like a joint casting decision for a commercial.

Within this juncture, the director assured Kana and Akane that he would secure their autographs for the sponsor's daughter at a later juncture. With that aside, he bestowed his praise upon the two actresses, commending their seamless synergy. Despite being aware of their historical rivalry, he confessed to his initial skepticism about their compatibility. However, their shared presence showcased an unexpected serenity, casting doubt on the veracity of the rumors.

Subsequently, within the confines of the dressing room, Kana and Akane forged a pact to expedite the shoot's completion. They understood the director's aversion to retakes, fueling their determination to swiftly wrap up their work. Amidst this, keen-eyed makeup artists gleaned the palpable strain between the two actresses. Undeterred, the makeup artists embarked on their own assignments for the shoot.

In the context of the scene, Kana and Akane assumed the roles of pirates, their camaraderie mirroring the conflict between pirates. One was resolute in her pursuit of uncharted territories, while the other sought to thwart her endeavors. Through a series of exchanges and confrontations, the two actresses seamlessly navigated their roles, successfully culminating the shoot sans any retakes.

Following the shoot, Kana Arima candidly shared her perspective, asserting that she didn't view Akane as a worthy adversary. This candid statement struck Akane as an affront, given her belief that Kana had exhibited the same level of enthusiasm during the advertisement shoot as she had. Amidst this exchange, a seemingly innocuous moniker slipped from Akane's lips—she referred to Kana as "Kana-chan." Yet, this small utterance evoked an immediate response from Kana, who swiftly implored Akane not to use that term.

Spanning the entirety of the chapter, Kana's inner reflections laid bare her disposition toward labels. She confessed her indifference to how people addressed her, be it "a pain in the neck," a "buttinsky," or any other epithet. Consequently, she harbored no qualms about Akane Kurokawa employing similar address. Notably, her sentiments extended to calling Akane names as well, a course of action she regarded as inconsequential and trivial.

Final thoughts on Oshi no Ko -interlude- chapter 3

Oshi no Ko -interlude- chapter 3 showcased what Kana thought of Akane. While she respects her, her poor communication skills have often led her to be mean to her rival. The same can be seen in this chapter. That said, she tries not to say mean things to her rival. Hence, fans can hope for Kana to work on her communication skills in the future.
