The latest volume of One-Punch Man comes with an additional jab as it includes a bonus chapter.

A recent report from Sportskeeda gave fans a look at the cover art, inside cover and additional illustrations from the recent Japanese release of One-Punch Man Volume 28, written by One and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. Within these scans of the latest book, released on June 2, was a contents page that revealed the existence of a bonus chapter. English reading fans can now expect this additional content once the title receives its official translation.

Concerning the Upcoming Bonus Chapter

One-Punch Man Volume 28 compiles Chapters 138 through 143, with the first of those chapters titled "Twist" and the last "Into the Abyss." A fan of the series translated the scans to give English speakers an idea of what it included. This revealed the title of the bonus chapter, which translated to "Smell" or "Olfactory sensation." The order of the contents page suggests that the brand-new chapter will come at the end of the book.

The scans also looked at the additional illustrations provided by Murata for the volume's release, including a collection of the title's most popular figures compiled into a two-page spread. These characters include the protagonist Saitama, his apprentice Genos, the "Biker for Justice" Mumen Rider, Tatsumaki and Bang. In addition, the cover page of the volume, as per Sportskeeda, features Genos and Tatsumaki in close proximity.

This iconic series takes multiple forms, with the Murata-illustrated manga acting as a remake of the original webcomic created by One. The latter began the story of the overpowered superhero in 2009. This webcomic still runs today, recently releasing new content, including a chapter that gave the beloved Mumen Rider a major power boost. The remake manga, published by Shueisha, consists of 182 chapters, with the series currently experiencing a hiatus thanks to Murata's health.

One-Punch Man was adapted into an anime by Madhouse in 2015, which helped the series to increase its appeal and popularity. The second season, helmed by J.C. Staff, was released in 2019 but was criticized for its drop in quality. Season 3 of the series has been announced, but a release window and confirmation of what animation studio will produce it remain unknown at the time of writing.

The manga is available to read via MangaMonster and Viz Media with a subscription to Shonen Jump.
