One Piece: Oda Reveals A New Devil Fruit In SBS Volume 107

One Piece volume 107 is finally here and that means it is time for a new SBS corner. As always, this manga volume's SBS corner is also filled with quite a lot of interesting details from the story. Oda joked and had fun with his fans, just as he always does, but at the same time, he also revealed some very interesting bits of information that fans would surely be interested in.

One particular detail that Oda revealed pertained to a very powerful Devil Fruit seen in the One Piece world that remained unnamed until now. Finally, Oda has assigned a name to this Devil Fruit and fans can only hope that its powers are further elaborated upon in the story in the future.

Bonney's Devil Fruit Name - Toshi Toshi no Mi

In One Piece SBS Volume 107, Eiichiro Oda finally unveiled the name of the Devil Fruit that grants Bonney her Paramecia powers. This fruit is known as the Toshi Toshi no Mi, which can be loosely translated as the Age Age Fruit. The name is quite straightforward, and many fans had suspected that this was the nature of Bonney's power, but it's always gratifying to receive official confirmation from the author himself.

Interestingly, when Bonney was first introduced to fans in the Sabaody Archipelago, Oda did not reveal the name of her Devil Fruit. Her introduction card did mention her moniker, "Big Eater," and also noted her impressive bounty of 140 million berries, which was among the highest within the Supernova at the time.

Despite the initial lack of information about her Devil Fruit ability, fans got to witness her powers in action not long after. During the chaos on Sabaody Archipelago, Bonney extensively utilized the Toshi Toshi no Mi. With this Devil Fruit, she had the ability to manipulate the ages of individuals, transforming some Marines into toddlers and others into elderly and frail individuals. This power was shown to be incredibly potent and posed a significant threat to anyone who crossed her path. A mere touch from her could completely incapacitate her opponents, making her abilities truly formidable.

Since her introduction in the Sabaody Archipelago arc, Bonney has honed her control over this power. She has gained access to a wide array of incredible abilities associated with her Devil Fruit, bringing her one step closer to unlocking its full potential, which is known as Devil Fruit awakening.

The Powers Of Toshi Toshi no Mi

The Toshi Toshi no Mi, Bonney's Devil Fruit, indeed boasts a wide range of incredible powers. Its primary ability allows her to alter the ages of people, and this has been demonstrated multiple times in the series. Upon physical contact, Bonney can effortlessly change a person's age to her liking. It's important to note that the age-altering effects on living beings are temporary; after a significant period of time, the affected individuals will revert to their original ages. Bonney can also expedite this process by simply restoring them to their normal age.

One of the most remarkable powers of the Toshi Toshi no Mi is known as "Distortion Future." This ability grants Bonney the capacity to transform into an alternate version of herself, representing a different future. When she employs this power on herself, she becomes a giant, muscular woman, resembling the Buccaneer race. Although Bonney is known to be Kuma's daughter, and the Buccaneer race is associated with him, it seems that she has no direct connection to the Buccaneer race. Nonetheless, through "Distortion Future," she can access their powers. This ability can also be used on others, as evidenced when she transformed Luffy into a 70-year-old man with no dreams, as previously drawn by Oda in an SBS corner.

Another potent ability in Bonney's arsenal is "Age Thrust." This power is particularly dangerous as it doesn't require Bonney to make direct physical contact with her targets in order to manipulate their ages. By channeling her Devil Fruit abilities through any object she's holding, Bonney can project her age-altering effects onto her targets, manifesting their ages as jewels outside their bodies. She used this power on Vegapunk, effectively turning him into a child. Bonney has complete control over this ability and can return her targets to their original age at will.

As mentioned earlier, Bonney can also use the powers of the Toshi Toshi no mi on inanimate objects. This is done through a technique known as Oil Shock. Essentially, this is quite similar to how Shinobu's Devil Fruit works. By using her aging powers on any inanimate object, Bonney can simply age it up to a point where it starts corroding and becomes brittle. She can then break it with minimal effort, making it an incredibly amazing power. Essentially, Bonney can do this to enemy weapons, such as swords, or enemy fortifications, which is what she did in Vegapunk's laboratory in order to get to what she wanted.

Another incredible ability that the Toshi Toshi no Mi grants to Bonney is called NDE, or Near Death Experience. As is evident from the name itself, this ability gives the target a near-death experience. Bonney can utilize this power in whatever way she wants, including projectiles or bullets. When she first utilized it, she was seen making use of a gun to fire at her enemies. As soon as the enemies were shot, they had a near-death experience where they saw themselves dying, turning into rotten skeletons and even seeing their souls depart their bodies.

This is a very traumatic experience for nearly anyone and they immediately faint from this near-death experience. Bonney used this power on Egghead Island when she was fighting against powerful Marines in the Fabriophase. It goes without saying that this is an incredible ability and certainly one of the strongest applications of the powers of the Toshi Toshi no Mi.

Of course, there are likely many other powers of this Devil Fruit that fans have not seen just yet. Bonney has been bringing out her very best in the Egghead Island arc of One Piece and, given that this arc is still ongoing, there is a lot left for her to showcase. Given her incredible control of her powers, fans can hope that she manages to awaken her Devil Fruit and take her powers to the very next level. The Toshi Toshi no Mi has certainly proven itself to be an incredible ability and fans can only hope that it continues that amazing display throughout the Egghead arc.
