In One Piece, the Shichibukai, also known as the Seven Warlords of the Sea, were pirates affiliated with the World Government who were tasked with curbing the influence of other pirates in the Great Pirate Era. In return, they gained a unique sense of freedom on the seas as the Marines would then not chase them down.

The system was in place for decades, however, recently, the Shichibukai system was finally abolished. Now, the former Warlords of the Sea have scattered all over the world and are currently engaged in different activities, some of which are very interesting.

11 Trafalgar Law

Trafalgar Law joined the order of the Shichibukai at some point during the timeskip. He did not need this position for long as, shortly after the story entered the New World, he allied with Luffy.

This essentially ended his Shichibukai position and made him a wanted man once again. Law then took part in the war of Wano as well and, there, he received a bounty of 3 billion berries. He was later crushed by Blackbeard.

10 Edward Weevil

Weevil was a Shichibukai until recently and, immediately after the system was abolished, he was attacked by Marines.

It wasn't hard for him to crush them, that is, until Admiral Green Bull showed up and took him on his ship. It appears that he has now been arrested.

9 Gecko Moria

Moria was a Shichibukai long ago. He lost this position after the events of the Paramount War. Ever since then, he has been active in the New World.

Recently, he was captured by the Blackbeard Pirates, however, he was freed by Koby, who was helped by Perona on the Pirate Island. It is believed that he has escaped from this island at the moment.

8 Jinbe

Jinbe took the position of Shichibukai long ago and he was in prison prior to the Paramount War for not wanting to participate.

He lost his position at that time and, eventually, he allied with Big Mom. He is currently a member of the Straw Hat Pirates.

7 Donquixote Doflamingo

Doflamingo was one of the most wicked Shichibukai until the events of the Dressrosa arc there, where he met the collaborative force of Luffy and Law.

It was Luffy who ended up crushing him and his evil activities were exposed to the world, leading to his arrest. He's currently in Impel Down Level 6.

6 Crocodile

Crocodile was a Shichibukai during the Arabasta arc. At the end of this arc, he was defeated by Luffy and he lost his status.

He was then locked in Impel Down, which Luffy freed him from. He then fought in the Paramount War, before heading out to the New World. Currently, he is one of the core members of the Cross Guild.

5 Bartholomew Kuma

Kuma was a Shichibukai until recently, however, he was then turned into the invincible slave of the Celestial Dragons.

He was rescued by the members of the Revolutionary Army, and right now, he is on his way to Egghead Island.

4 Dracule Mihawk

Mihawk was most likely the greatest asset of the Shichibukai until recently, given that he is the strongest swordsman in the entire world. When the system was abolished, Mihawk was hunted once again.

He was contacted by Crocodile and the two formed an alliance, which formed the basis for the Cross Guild. Mihawk was assigned a bounty of 3.590 billion berries.

3 Buggy

Buggy is the leader of the Cross Guild and immediately after the Warlord system was abolished, Buggy was made a Yonko. This was because the world perceived him to be the leader of this criminal organization and superior to both Mihawk as well as Crocodile.

As always, Buggy lucked out, otherwise, he would not have become a Yonko. The gag with this character continues as he was given a bounty of 3.189 billion berries. That said, he has his eyes set on the One Pieceand is actually a serious contender.

2 Marshall D. Teach

Teach was a Shichibukai for a very short period of time, and he gave this position up during the Paramount War Saga.

He has, since then, asserted dominance in the New World and become one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, which just goes to show that he's incredibly powerful right now. Teach has one of the highest bounties in One Piece, at 3.996 billion berries.

1 Hancock

Hancock was quite a dangerous member of the Shichibukai, that is, until this system was finally abolished. Immediately after that, Amazon Lily was attacked by the Marines and Hancock was able to resist this attack.

Currently, she is still on the island, however, she won't be there for long. Hancock likely will depart from the island and look for Luffy. She will likely ally herself with the Straw Hat Pirates and, at the same time, Amazon Lily might be placed under the protection of the Straw Hat Crew.
