This July, when My Happy Marriage airs, viewers are invited to witness the happy union of Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudou.

My Happy Marriage, the anime adaptation of the fantasy light novel series, has received a second trailer from Netflix. According to Anime News Network, the magical romance anime will premiere on Netflix on July 5. The second trailer begins with Miyo Saimori's depressed declaration that she is unwanted and useless since she lacks supernatural abilities. Happiness, on the other hand, may be well within her grasp when she meets her new husband. In the trailer, fans will hear a clip of the opening theme song, "Anata no Soba ni" (By Your Side), sung by Riria. Kashitar It will play the closing theme, "Itaphilosophy."

 

The Crew Behind My Happy Marriage

Kinema Citrus will oversee the anime adaptation with Takehiro Kubota directing. Takao Abo will storyboard and supervise while Ami Satō, Takahito Ōnishi and Momoka Toyoda will work on the scripts. Shōko Yasuda will join as the character designer, while Evan Call, who composed the soundtrack for Violet Evergarden, will compose for My Happy Marriage.

My Happy Marriage's Cast

The cast for the anime includes notable voice actors. Reina Ueda, who voiced Akane Shinjō in SSSS.Gridman and Kanao Tsuyuri in Demon Slayer will voice Miyo. Kaito Ishikawa, whose most well-known roles include Tenya Iida from My Hero Academia and Tobio Kageyama from Haikyuu!!, will take on the role of Kiyoka. Ayane Sakura, who portrayed Tsubaki Sawabe from Your Lie in April and Ochaco Uraraka from My Hero Academia, will voice Kana Saimori. Kōtarō Nishiyama, who played Junnosuke Nakano from Aoashi will portray Kōji Tatsuishi. Houko Kuwashima, Hiro Shimono and Ryohei Kimura will voice Yuri, Yoshito Godō and Arata Tsuruki, respectively.

 

Written by Akumi Agitogi and featuring illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka, My Happy Marriage takes place in the 19th century Meiji Restoration era where Miyo Saimori is forced into a marriage with commander Kiyoka Kudo, a man who has been rumored to drive his fiancées away within three days. Expecting her new life as a wife to not be so different from her life under her terrible stepmother, Miyo realizes her husband isn't as terrifying as the rumors say. My Happy Marriage received a manga adaptation in December 2018. The light novel has also been adapted into a live-action film, premiering in Japan on March 17, 2023.
