In Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2, episode 9, viewers were finally introduced to Nanahoshi, the girl whom Rudeus had saved in his previous life. What Rudeus didn't realize was that she had been transported to the Asura Kingdom and subsequently crossed paths with Orsted.
Nanahoshi had made a prior appearance alongside Orsted in the first season, where she played a crucial role in saving Rudeus and his friends after Orsted's near-fatal encounter with them. Many years later, when she encountered Rudeus at Ranoa Magic Academy, she posed a perplexing question. She asked him if he knew about Shinohara Akito and Kuroki Seiji. This raises the question: why was Nanahoshi in search of these two Japanese individuals?

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2 - How is Nanahoshi related to Shinohara Akito and Kuroki Seiji?
Shinohara Akito and Kuroki Seiji hold a special place in Nanahoshi Shizuka's heart as her friends from her previous life in the original world. Their connection began when all three of them were saved from a truck accident by Rudeus. However, their fates took different turns after the accident. While Rudeus was reincarnated into the Asura Kingdom, Nanahoshi found herself mysteriously transported into this new world. What's particularly intriguing is that, as revealed in the latest episode of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2, Nanahoshi has remained unchanged in terms of her age since her arrival.
Nanahoshi's primary desire is to return to her original world, as she holds no interest in the unfamiliar surroundings of the new world. Despite not having crossed paths with her friends, Shinohara Akito and Kuroki Seiji, in this new realm, she firmly believes that they too were transported to this world alongside her. Consequently, Nanahoshi Shizuka is on a quest to locate Shinohara and Kuroki, with the ultimate goal of returning to the original world alongside her cherished friends.
While she offered Rudeus to join her and her friends on their journey, Rudeus rejected it as he liked the new world and had no regrets about leaving the original world. That said, he did agree to help her find her friends and possibly find a way to teleport her back to the original world. Hence, the remainder of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2 could focus on that.
Will Nanahoshi find Shinohara Akito and Kuroki Seiji?
As evident from the beginning of the series, Kuroki Seiji did not get teleported into the new world as he was seen giving testimony to the police about his two missing friends. On the other hand, Shinohara Akito was apparently teleported to the new world. However, unlike Nanahoshi, who was teleported ten years after Rudeus's birth, Shinohara Akito was teleported around 80 years into the future.
As of now, Shinohara has yet to make an appearance in the light novel, although his name has been referenced on multiple occasions. In a later part of the narrative, Nanahoshi contemplates the possible circumstances surrounding Shinohara's absence. In response, she decides to halt her own aging process, effectively ensuring her continued existence until Shinohara emerges in this world. Once he does, it's highly probable that she will employ the teleportation device she has ingeniously crafted, facilitating their return to the original world together.
Given that this particular sequence of events hasn't transpired in the original series, fans are left speculating whether Nanahoshi and Shinohara could potentially serve as the central figures in the planned sequel series. Consequently, it may be a while before we can definitively ascertain whether Nanahoshi will reunite with Shinohara.
