The third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, commonly known as the "Swordsmith Village" arc, has revealed a slew of interesting ideas for its early-2023 launch.

Demon Slayer has released a new promotional video on the Aniplex USA YouTube account, as reported by Anime Corner. The movie follows the course of the series through filmstrips with patterned borders that correlate to the content. It begins with the publication of Season 1 in April 2019 and continues through Season 2, which is divided between the anime feature Demon Slayer: Mugen Train and the episodes covering the "Entertainment District" arc in 2021. The footage then switches between the peaceful Mist Hashira and the joyful Love Hashira. The "Swordsmith Village" arc, once again created by Ufotable, will launch in April.

Yet, Demon Slayer fans have more to look forward to. The anime announced a special screening of the first episode of the "Swordsmith Village" arc. Starting on Feb. 3, 2023, Demon Slayer will embark on a "Kimetsu no Yaiba -- World Tour Screening," where fans, in over 80 countries, can watch Episode 10, titled "Never Give Up," and Episode 11, "No Matter How Many Lives," before watching the one-hour special of Season 3's first episode. It will then hit Paris on Feb. 25, Berlin on Feb. 26, Mexico City on March 4, Seoul on March 11, with Taiwan rounding out the tour on March 19. Each screening will have different special guests such as producer Yūma Takahashi, voice actor Natsuki Hanae and singer Aimer, who sang the opening "Zankyou Sanka" from Season 2.

While the March 3 start of the global Demon Slayer screenings feels like a long ways away for U.S. fans, a special red carpet premiere will be held on Feb. 18 at the Orpheum Theatre to celebrate the imminent release of the anime's new season. The event is scheduled to feature appearances from Hanae, Takahashi and a performance by Aimer. Tickets go on sale on Jan. 7 on Ticketmaster.

Demon Slayer, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge became a global sensation when the anime adaptation aired in 2019. Demon Slayer began serialization in February 2016 before concluding in May 2020. It is one of the best-selling manga series of all time, recording over 150 million copies as of February 2021. After one of Gotouge's works failed to be a serialized series, their editor suggested that they create a work with an "easy to understand theme." The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, who becomes a demon slayer after Muzan Kibutsuji kills his family and turns his sister into a demon. Despite all the pain and suffering he has endured, Tanjiro is unwavering in his displays of kindness he shows others, humans and demons included. Ultimately, the story of Demon Slayer is about human loss, hope and perseverance; themes that resonate with many viewers.

Demon Slayer's "Swordsmith Village" arc premieres in April 2023. The first two seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
