Bleach: The largest and concluding arc of the Bleach series, Thousand-Year Blood War, is easily comparable to My Hero Academia's Paranormal Liberation War arc in the Fall 2022 anime season. As a result, Yamamoto himself is among the growing number of casualties among Bleach's best new and returning characters who are fighting to the death.

There isn't much time to mourn the loss of head Captain Yamamoto, who perished at the hands of King Yhwach, his Quincy counterpart, and longtime foe. Shunsui Kyoraku, the captain of squad 8, was selected by Central 46 to succeed Yamamoto and lead the Soul Reapers to victory in round two of the conflict because it will soon resume. Shunsui has what it takes, but the experience could alter him irrevocably.

Reasons Why Shunsui Kyoraku Should Succeed Yamamoto as Boss

Episode 9 of Bleach: Captain Shunsui Kyoraku, who is currently carrying heavy burdens equal to or greater than those of Ichigo Kurosaki, rather than the protagonist character Ichigo Kurosaki, started the Thousand-Year Blood War. Ichigo has a lot of obstacles to overcome, but he can at least fight as a warrior who stands on his own two feet and goes about things his own way. As the new Captain of squad 1 and the overall head Captain, Kyoraku, on the other hand, is now accountable for every single Soul Reaper alive. Although Kyoraku is accustomed to leading troops and managing a squad, he now has a tremendously difficult task to complete. Regardless of what villains such as Ichigo and Kisuke Urahara do, the Soul Society as a whole will undoubtedly collapse if he is unable to accomplish this. Even Kyokraku himself feels a little unsure about this, especially since it was so sudden and he's still processing his grief.

However, Kyoraku is undoubtedly the best candidate for the position, and Central 46 made a wise choice. To begin with, Kyoraku is a seasoned veteran who joined the Gotei 13 not long after it was first established 1,000 years ago. Retsu Unohana, who was one of the original 13 Captains, was not, but since Unohana is otherwise occupied, Kyoraku is the most seasoned Captain qualified to succeed Yamamoto. In addition to having a wealth of experience on his side, Kyoraku is also personally acquainted with Yamamoto's management style, which can ease the transfer of power.

Kyoraku is also serious and dedicated to his work, even though he may appear to be carefree and silly in some scenes. He is a friendly, likable person who kept the other Soul Reapers in check when things nearly broke down after Yamamoto's death and is friendly with squad 0. As a result, he is already a stabilizing factor. He is the only candidate to succeed in Yamamoto because of this and his extraordinary combat abilities.

How Shunsui Kyoraku in Bleach Might Change as a Result of This

A person might change as a result of taking on new duties and a demanding job, or at the very least reveal a side of themselves that few other people are aware of. Being in a position of authority can completely transform a person for better or worse, either honing them into a strong, decisive leader or exposing their dishonest, cowardly, or incompetent nature. This new duty must bring out Kyoraku's best qualities rather than his worst, or the Soul Society will lose everything.

The Wandenreich will have yet another advantage in this final war if Kyoraku gives in to pressure and allows stress or grief to affect him. Such events have occurred in Bleach before, such as Byakuya Kuchiki's transformation from a cheery tsundere teen to a stern, cold Captain in charge of squad 6 and his noble family. Byakuya had to change himself back for the better as a leader and as a foster brother, and it took Ichigo's heroism, tenacity, and motivational speech to make him do it.

Thankfully, Kyoraku was prepared for this and has some protection. He requests the assistance of Okikiba of squad 1 and Nanao Ise, his original squad 8 Lieutenant. As he stated to Central 46, Kyoraku trusts Nanao to manage him personally and that Okikiba will assist him in leading and overseeing squad 1 as a commander. Fans will get to see the serious and meaningful side of Kyoraku's relationship with the tsundere Nanao Ise, who he frequently teases and annoys in Bleach. As the new head Captain, Kyoraku will use Nanao to ensure that he never gives in to anxiety, grief, or rage. By maintaining his "humanity," he will win this battle and demonstrate to Yhwach what a true leader is capable of. So that's all the reasons why Shunsui Kyoraku Might Be Capable of Succeeding as Yamamoto's Replacement.
