\Monkey D. Dragon is one of the most important characters in One Piece and certainly a major point of view character in the Final Saga of the story. Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army, which fans know is an extremely important faction, especially in the Final Saga. The Revolutionary Army was first introduced to the fans properly before the timeskip. Garp mentioned that Dragon, Luffy’s father, leads the revolutionaries and, slowly, Oda started shedding more light on him and his incredible army.

Currently, the Revolutionary Army is at the center of all incredible plot points and Dragon himself is one of the major players in the power struggle in the One Piece world. Dragon is often believed to be the world’s worst criminal and that has led many fans to believe that his bounty might just be the highest.
The Highest Bounties In The One Piece World
When it comes to the highest bounties that the fans know of in the One Piece world, they belong to the Yonko and, of course, the former Pirate King. Currently, the highest active bounty in One Piece belongs to none other than Shanks, at 4.0489 billion berries. Prior to that, the highest bounty that the fans knew of belonged to Kaido, who had a bounty of 4.611 billion berries. Now that both Kaido and Big Mom are down and their fates unknown, Shanks possesses the highest known active bounty in One Piece.
Even before Kaido and Big Mom, two powerful pirates existed who held even higher bounties. These were Whitebeard and, of course, Roger. Whitebeard had a bounty of 5.046 billion berries while Roger had a bounty of 5.56 billion berries, which is nothing short of staggering. It is clear for everyone to see that Roger had the highest bounty of any character in One Piece and this certainly makes a lot of sense. He was the Pirate King and, as such, the biggest enemy of the World Government by all means. Not only did he possess tremendous strength, but he also knew everything there was to know about the history of the One Piece world. As such, Roger had a huge bounty placed on his head and this figure was completely deserved as well. Right now, Shanks possesses the highest bounty that the fans know of, however, another contender for the highest possible bounty in One Piece is none other than Dragon.
How Strong Is Dragon?
When speaking of one’s bounty, strength is often taken into consideration. It must be remembered that strength is not the only factor in determining the bounty of a particular individual. A bounty is issued for a particular individual based on the level of their strength but also based on the danger that they pose to the World Government. A person can be strong and not all that dangerous to the Government, which would then give them a bounty that is high but not the highest. Conversely, a person who is very dangerous to the World Government but not all that strong could end up having a high bounty as well. It all depends on how the World Government perceives that individual and what bounty they want to issue for them.
Regardless, strength is a very big factor when it comes to determining the bounty of an individual. For someone like Dragon, fans know that his strength is going to be above that of an Admiral, at the very least. This is already confirmed in the story, given that his number two, Sabo, is strong enough to fight against an Admiral and hold his own. Even before Sabo had any sort of control over his Devil Fruit, he was still able to impress in a fight against Fujitora. However, now, Sabo has gained quite a lot more experience and possesses incredible might. The fact is that Sabo is more than capable of fighting against any Admiral and if the number two of the Revolutionary Army is so strong, fans can only imagine how strong Dragon is going to be. At the very least, Dragon is stronger than any Admiral that fans have seen so far and that means his bounty is, at the very least, going to be above 3 billion berries, since that is the benchmark that Oda set for the Admirals through the Cross Guild.
Dragon’s Reputation As A Revolutionary
Now that it has been established the Dragon has strength greater than that of an Admiral, his reputation needs to be taken into consideration as well. Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army and he has liberated quite a lot of kingdoms who were once either allied with the World Government, or in open rebellion. Dragon has, thus, effectively challenged the World Government directly and overthrown their control over many kingdoms. This puts him in open rebellion against the World Government himself. As such, out of all the characters that are currently alive in the One Piece world, Dragon is the biggest threat to the World Government. As mentioned previously, bounties are determined by strength as well as the level of threat they pose to the Government.
Dragon is not only incredibly strong but he is also a big threat to the Government. In fact, he might just turn out to be the biggest threat that the Government has ever faced in the entire series and that is a damning statement. This means Dragons bounty in One Piece is going to be among the very highest and fans are certainly excited to see this figure finally get revealed to them.
Dragon’s Bounty In One Piece
Taking all things into consideration, fans can rest assured that Dragons bounty is going to be above 4 billion berries easily. At the very least, Dragon will have a bounty that surpasses that of Shanks at the moment. Fans know Shanks to have a bounty of 4.048 billion berries and this is certainly an incredibly high number. However, Shanks is a very peaceful pirate and even the government recognizes that. His bounty is entirely because of his incredible strength and the potential danger he poses to them. However, the fact that Shanks has hardly ever caused any problems and has, in fact, on many occasions, tried to maintain peace just goes to show that he isn’t intent on going against them. Dragon is not just strong but he’s also dangerous to the World Government itself. This means that he deserves a bounty greater than that of Shanks, even if he isn’t necessarily stronger than him.
Quite a lot of One Piece fans believe Dragon to have a bounty higher than even that of Roger. While there is an argument to be had when it comes to that, it is highly likely that Dragon will not have a bounty as high as that of Roger. This is simply down to the fact that Roger, at the end of the day, knew more about the Void Century Dragon ever could. Roger went to the Final Island and figured out every single thing about the World Government and their dirtiest of secrets. He found out the truth about the Ancient Weapons and the Void Century and, at the same time, he possessed tremendous power up his sleeve as well. This made Roger the most wanted man in the entire world and gave him a tremendously massive bounty.
Dragon, while also a big threat to the government, has not reached those levels just yet. He’s certainly on the path to greatness but his bounty should not be greater than that of Roger. Dragon still doesn’t understand the true history of the world and there are still many mysteries that he has to uncover. As such, the level of threat he poses to the government’s existence isn’t as great as Roger’s. Effectively, the bounty the Dragon currently has on his head should be somewhere between 4.5 to 5 billion berries, however, certainly not greater than 5.56 billion berries.
