Conqueror’s Haki is an incredible power that exists in the One Piece world. This power wasn’t introduced properly to the fans until the timeskip, and more exposition pertaining to its capabilities has been delivered over the course of post timeskip of the series.

Conqueror’s Haki is certainly strong, and it can be said that it is one of the best powers. However, there is a massive misconception among the fans which leads many to believe that this is the ultimate ability in the One Piece world, which clearly is not the case.

What Is Conqueror’s Haki?

The Ability To Use Willpower In Combat In Unique Ways

Conqueror’s Haki is an ability that not everyone can be blessed with. It is a very rare power that is present only within one in a million people. Conqueror’s Haki allows an individual to impose their willpower on others. Those who are weak-willed simply pass out in the presence of those who possess Conqueror’s Haki once they utilize it. Those who have strong wills manage to maintain their senses. However, if their wills are still weaker than the user Conqueror’s Haki, they are still intimidated to an extent. Essentially, Conqueror’s Haki is quite a dangerous ability that is present only within those who have kingly ambitions. That said, not every individual in the One Piece world has access to this Haki as it is an ability that an individual must be born with.

The basic form of Conqueror’s Haki is not all that special. It surely is cool, as it allows a user to knock out anyone standing in their path almost immediately, without even lifting a finger. However, against stronger individuals, it doesn’t really make much of a difference. To make Conqueror’s Haki effective against strong individuals, this power needs to be advanced, and to do that, the true nature of this ability needs to be understood in the first place.

The Strength Of Conqueror’s Haki

Conqueror’s Haki Can Be Infused To Increase Power

The true strength of Conqueror’s Haki lies in an ability known as Infusion. When Conqueror’s Haki was first introduced in One Piece, fans did not know whether this ability could be infused or not. However, it was in the Wano Country arc that the truth about this power was finally revealed. After Luffy lost to Kaido repeatedly, he figured out the secret to the strength of the Yonko. Luffy Finally put two and two together and realized that Kaido was making use of Conqueror’s Haki Infusion. Just like one infuses Armament Haki into their attacks, Conqueror’s Haki could also be infused, and it is a much stronger weapon than Armament Haki. Essentially, Conqueror’s Haki can be used for both attack and defense, just like Armament Haki, and the potential that this Haki type holds is absolutely immense.

You can infuse things with Conqueror’s Haki, can’t you? – Luffy

To put that into perspective, Kaido was able to knock out Luffy with a single swing of his club coated in Conqueror’s Haki at the beginning of Wano. Once again, on the rooftop, Kaido was able to knock out Luffy with a single Conqueror’s Haki-infused blow, even though Luffy used his very own Haki to block him this time.

This was only a small glimpse of what Conqueror’s Haki is truly capable of in battle, and ever since the true essence of this power has been revealed, fans have come to know what this ability is truly capable of, and why it is a power that sends shivers down even the elites of the One Piece world.

Only a handful of the strongest can!!! – Kaido

The misconception about Conqueror’s Haki being an ability that conquers all stems from Kaido’s own opinion. In his fight against Luffy, Kaido mentions that Devil Fruit abilities are great, however, they cannot conquer the seas. Kaido is of the opinion that only Haki can conquer all, and he mentions this because Roger was able to bring the whole world to heal using nothing but Conqueror’s Haki. This statement in itself is not wrong. However, the way that many readers have interpreted it is certainly wrong.

Roger didn’t have any fruit powers, because only Haki can transcend all!! – Kaido

Conqueror’s Haki is not the end-all and be-all in the One Piece World. It is a very powerful ability for sure, however, Kaido himself goes on to say that Conqueror’s Haki infusion is a power that only a “handful” of the strongest can utilize. This, by definition, means that, among the strongest, there are people who cannot utilize this power but still maintain that position.

Is Conqueror’s Haki The Strongest?

Conqueror’s Haki Can Be Matched And Surpassed By Many Abilities

Clearly, Conqueror’s Haki is a very powerful weapon in combat. Given its strength to knock out an individual in a single blow, Conqueror’s Haki is absolutely immense and there is no denying that fact. Any individual who can infuse Conqueror’s Haki is already destined to rise to the very top straight away. However, it would not be accurate to say that Conqueror’s Haki is the only power that can take one to the top. There are many abilities in One Piece that can hold their own against an ability as strong as Conqueror’s Haki Infusion. For one, there are many overpowered Devil Fruits that exist in the One Piece world. For instance, Whitebeard’s Gura Gura no Mi is a tremendous power that can essentially destroy the entire world. Holding this power, one can surely match the potential of Conqueror’s Haki. Similarly, Luffy’s very own Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is an immense ability and he proved it in his fight against Kaido that having the stronger Haki does not lead to victory. Luffy’s Conqueror’s Haki was weaker and rougher than that of Kaido, and he had much less experience with it. However, by combining it with his Devil Fruit power, Luffy was essentially able to overpower Kaido despite him having the weaker Haki. This is once again proof of the fact that Conqueror’s Infusion is not necessarily the ultimate ability.

At the same time, Oda is also introducing other powerful abilities in One Piece, such as the power of science. Through Vegapunk, Oda has himself mentioned that the Seraphim are the pinnacle of human strength in the One Piece world. They surpass the strength of all humans and are destined to be the strongest of humanity. This has likely got to do with the ancient technology that the people of the Great Kingdom once possessed, and likely harnessed as the Mother Flame too. This power is, simply put, unmatched. As such, Devil Fruit powers, science, and some very other rare abilities all hold up tremendously well against Conqueror’s Haki.

To truly conquer the seas, one certainly does need Conqueror’s Haki. However, it is only through a combination of the Nika power and powerful Conqueror’s Haki that Luffy can conquer all. Haki alone is not enough, just as Devil Fruit alone would not let Luffy come out on top. In the future of One Piece, fans will most definitely see more instances of this being true. That is not to say that Conqueror’s Haki is not amazing. It certainly is a devastating power that can essentially destroy nearly anyone in combat. However, there exist other abilities that can do this as well, rare as they may be.
