Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248 is what fans are eagerly awaiting and things are certainly building up towards an exciting future. In the previous chapter, fans got to see Higuruma show his incredible talent as a sorcerer and reach amazing heights, growing all the while he was engaging in enthralling combat.
Sukuna was heavily impressed with the level of skill that Higuruma showed, however, at the end of the day, it did not prove to be enough to take down the King of Curses. Regardless, fans were filled with excitement towards the end of the chapter as Yuji finally took center stage in the battle against Sukuna. This is something that fans have been waiting for, for quite a while now and the fact that it has finally happened excites them to no end. JJK chapter 248 is what all fans are eyeing at the moment and expectedly so.
Higuruma’s Death
In the previous chapter of JJK, fans got to see quite a lot of exciting action and this was largely focused on the character of Higuruma. While Yuji also played minor roles in the chapter, the vast majority of it was focused on the talented sorcerer who impressed even the King of Curses. Not only did he manage to use Domain Amplification but he also did it with such mastery that Sukuna considered him to be using cursed energy at the same level as him.
This was one of the highest praises that anyone could give Higuruma and the fact that it was coming from the strongest just further went on to show how skilled Higuruma truly was. As the fight between these two characters progressed, Sukuna launched stronger and stronger attacks and, towards the end, he was able to completely chop off Higuruma’s limbs. This was done by Sukuna on purpose as he wanted to see if Higuruma is talented enough to regenerate from these injuries. Much to his surprise, he certainly did hit that level as well. It didn’t take Higuruma long to tap into the power of reverse cursed technique and when he did, he manifested an entire arm to hit Sukuna with the Executioner’s Sword.
Sadly for Higuruma, this didn’t work out and he was faced with yet another powerful attack from point-blank range. Previously, it was made clear that reverse cursed technique does not work as effectively against Sukuna if the attack is launched from a very close distance. Since Higuruma took the attack from a very close range, it is highly likely that he will end up dying. Fans saw him pass on the Executioner’s Sword to Yuji in the previous chapter, however, his death hasn’t been explicitly confirmed. Perhaps, JJK chapter 248 will see to it that his death gets confirmed and fans will see Yuji and rage at the death of someone who was very close to him.
On the flip side, there is also a possibility that Higuruma ends up surviving. If the author doesn’t focus on Higuruma at all and leaves it ambiguous, then, it is highly likely that he might end up surviving, especially since he just tapped into the powers of reverse cursed technique and his head appears to be intact.
Yuji Uses The Executioner’s Sword
The big part of JJK chapter 248 is certainly going to be Yuji utilizing the Executioner’s Sword. In the previous chapter, it was Higuruma who passed on the sword to Yuji and this was reminiscent of how Nanami entrusted Yuji with everything once he was done in Shibuya. Higuruma has now supposedly fallen and this means Yuji is going to take the battle over from here onwards. It is going to be extremely interesting for the fans to see what he does with the Executioner’s Sword and whether he manages to hit Sukuna with it or not. Undoubtedly, Yuji is fast and strong, however, as seen in the previous chapter, Sukuna is far superior to him in every aspect of battle. Even though Yuji’s attempting to hit him in his back, which is very difficult to dodge, it will be interesting to see if he will actually manage to make contact.
This can go two ways. If Yuji hits Sukuna in JJK 248, then fans will most likely see Sukuna take heavy damage, however, still figure some way around it. Executioner’s Sword is said to guarantee death, however, it is too soon for Sukuna to fall in battle and he certainly will not die even if he gets hit with Executioner’s Sword. On the flip side, the safest way for the author here is to make Sukuna dodge the Executioner’s Sword entirely. This would work, however, this approach would be somewhat useless as Higuruma’s entire sacrifice would then serve no purpose at all. The author will have to find the right balance between Yuji managing to do something with the Executioner’s Sword and not killing off Sukuna. Perhaps, Sukuna making some sort of sacrifice that balances things between the two would serve the best purpose here.
Yuji’s Usage Of Blood Manipulation
Sukuna will most definitely survive Yuji’s attack and the battle between these two characters is likely to continue from there onwards. As they continue fighting, fans will most definitely see Yuji being focused on more and this leads to one of the most important parts of the story and that is Yuji’s usage of Cursed Technique. In the previous chapter, Yuji might have used a cursed technique, called Blood Manipulation, which Piercing Blood is a part of. If he utilized Piercing Blood, then the author will focus on this in JJK chapter 248 and showcase his mastery over this skill. It must also be noted that Yuji got hit with Dismantle from a very close range in the previous chapter and usually, that should result in death.
However, he clearly still survived. This could either be because of the usage of Blood Manipulation, which can potentially keep him alive or, the fact that Yuji is somewhat resistant to Sukuna’s technique. Whichever way the author goes with this, he will likely have to elaborate upon it in JJK chapter 248, and fans should fully expect an explanation as to how this was possible.
Sukuna Vs Yuji Begins
Starting from Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248, the battle between Yuji and Sukuna will finally begin. So far, Sukuna was engaged in combat with many other players in the battle as well. Now, the focus will be solely on Yuji and that is certainly going to be something very interesting. Of course, the likes of Kusakabe and Ino are around as well, however, it will likely take them some time to catch up and, even if they do, there isn’t much that they can do against Sukuna, as things stand. From here onwards, everything rests on Yuji and he will have to figure this out for himself. He will have to earn the respect of Sukuna and, at the same time, strive to kill him, in order to save everyone he holds dear to his heart.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248, is set to be January 21, 2024.
