HT2. At 71, Roseanne Barr debuts new pixie haircut, sparking a stir among fans

Roseanne Barr has become the latest celebrity to try out a brand new look, having taken to social media to flaunt a hairstyle that prompted a host of reactions from her fan base.

The concept of celebrities playing around with their appearances and testing new things is hardly a novel one, but that doesn’t mean that it fails to draw interest. On the contrary, the ever-changing stylistic choices of the world’s A-listers is a source of intrigue and gossip for many, so it’s hardly surprising that people had a lot to say when Roseanne Barr showed off her new pixie haircut.

The 71-year-old Barr took to Instagram to post pictures of her new do, replacing her long, gray locks with a textured pixie cut, accompanied with the caption “Cut.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the comedian and actress’s post garnered plenty of attention, with the vast majority of commenters only having nice things to say.

Wow makes you look younger and hot!!!!” wrote one person.

Another said: “I love it. You and I are the same age. I’ve always had long hair but lately I’ve been thinking of cutting it. Now that I’ve seen how good you look I just might do it.

“Beautiful Roseanne! Keep waking people up!!! We love you so much,” wrote a third.

Others left comments such as “Looks incredible Roseanne!” and “LOVE the hair!!!

As per reports, the hairstylist behind Barr’s transformation is one Andre Walker, who also works with the likes of actress Halle Berry and TV icon Oprah Winfrey.

In the late 1980s, Barr rose to megastardom after portraying Roseanne Conner in ABC’s sitcom Roseanne. The idea for the popular series came when the producers of The Cosby Show wanted to do “no-perks family comedy.”

When Roseanne premiered in 1998, the first episode was watched by 21 million households – the best debut that year. All told, Roseanne was an enormous success, running for a total of ten seasons. In addition, Barr won several awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

In more recent years, Barr encountered a significant setback when a tweet comparing former President Barack Obama’s advisor Valerie Jarrett to an ape led to the cancellation of her show.

Despite being an open supporter of former President Donald Trump, Barr attributed her inappropriate joke to bad health and emotional imbalance, expressing regret for the misstep, per People. In the aftermath, she retreated from the public eye for several weeks. Responding to the criticism, Barr publicly apologized.

Even so, a planned revival of Roseanne ended up being canceled as a result of the backlash, and behind the scenes she underwent an immense personal transformation – both professionally and personally.
