WARNING: The following contains spoilers for One Piece Episode 1111, “The Second Ohara! The Mastermind’s Ambition!”, now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Since the last few One Piece episodes, the Straw Hats have been defending themselves from various enemies. Upon their arrival on Egghead Island, the heroes had to fight CP-0, who had been sent to assassinate Dr. Vegapunk and his satellites. After dealing with the assassins, the Straw Hats came under attack from the Seraphim, whom an unknown traitor was controlling.
Now, their predicament is about to worsen as Admiral Kizaru, Saint. Jaygarcia Saturn, and a massive fleet are about to reach Egghead Island. The Straw Hats have done well to stay alive for so long, but if they do not stop the Seraphim, they will be at a distinct disadvantage.
On Egghead Island, Sentomaru was ordering people to evacuate and save their lives. The World Government has a reputation for being ruthless, so it wouldn’t just stop at killing Vegapunk and his satellites. The organization will likely wipe out every single person on the island and classify the casualties as collateral damage.
The Traitor’s Identity Is Finally Revealed
According to Shaka, the Seraphim were attacking the Straw Hats and the other satellites on the orders of the traitor. As some of the satellites failed to stop the Seraphim, Shaka concluded that the turncoat was likely another satellite. However, there were no apparent clues as to who it was. But finally, in Episode 1111, it was revealed that the traitor was none other than York, the satellite based on Vegapunk’s greed. She had tipped the Five Elders about Vegapunk’s research.
York had been motivated by her desire to become a Celestial Dragon. She developed the fixation after visiting Marijoa, where she saw the power of the Celestial Dragons. They were treated as gods, and nobody could defy their orders. Vegapunk even told her that the Celestial Dragons were horrible people, but York was unwilling to listen.
She even said that the world only needed one Vegapunk, so it would be fine if she were to kill him. While Stella and York were having their conversation, Nico Robin, Atlas, and Chopper were getting closer to finding them. Robin’s group was on the second floor when Atlas told them about a sealed room. Robin told the satellite that it might be worth checking for clues.
Sanji Vs. S-Shark
Elsewhere, Sanji confronted S-Shark, who had tried to strike Nami. The cook was not happy with S-Shark’s behavior, and he made it abundantly clear that the Seraphim was in trouble. S-Shark did not care about Sanji’s comments and immediately used his Sui Sui no Mi to travel through the ground. He was headed towards Nami, and just as he was about to land a hit on her, Sanji appeared and took the full impact of the blow. Surprisingly, he suffered no injury, and it was likely a result of genetic enhancements.
Luffy, Zoro, Lucci, and Kaku were still engaged in a tough fight against S-Hawk and S-Bear. As it stands, it doesn’t seem that the allied group will be able to beat the Seraphim before the arrival of the Marines.
Release Date
One Piece Episode 1112 will be released on July 14, 2024. The episode will be titled “Clash! Shanks vs. Eustass Kid”. As the name suggests, the episode will be focused on the fight between Shanks and Eustass Kid. The two sides had engaged in a duel before, but it ended on a horrible note for Eustass Kid as he lost his left arm at the hands of Ben Beckman. Now, they are about to face each other once again, but the question is, will the outcome be any different?
Who Will Win?
There is very little information available about Shanks and his crew, but it is safe to say nobody would want to get on their bad side. Despite the lack of details, Shanks is by far the favorite to win the fight, but it would be unwise to underestimate Eustass Kid. The latter has a bounty of 3 billion berries, making him one of the most wanted men in the world. In the Wano Country arc, Kid and Law took down Big Mom, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea.
The victory was a major confidence booster for Eustass Kid and his crew. Eustass Kid’s Jiki Jiki no Mi allows him to create massive weapons, with which he can easily wipe out an entire ship. So, Shanks would be foolish to give Kid ample time to prepare for the fight. Aside from Kid, the crew can also rely on Killer, who is also a Supernova. He was responsible for the defeat of Basil Hawkins in Wano.
Where To Watch
One Piece Episode 1112 will be available to watch on Crunchyroll almost immediately after it premieres in Japan. As always, fans will find that it will have Japanese audio and English subtitles. The dubbed version is still a ways away from release, so the wait could be rather long.
