Although there is no news about who will play Batman in James Gunn’s DC Universe, a stunning DCU fan trailer envisions an actor from The Boys as the Caped Crusader.

The excitement for the new DC Universe is soaring as fans eagerly await the release of James Gunn’s Superman movie, set to hit theaters in 2025. However, another iconic Justice League character set for a reboot in the DC Universe is Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman. Even though no name is attached to play The Dark Knight in The Brave and the Bold, a new fan trailer sees Jensen Ackles as one of the most iconic comic book characters appearing in the DCU.

A YouTube channel named KH Studio uploaded a fan trailer on the video-sharing platform, envisioning the acclaimed star as Batman. The fan trailer combines footage from various TV shows and movies featuring the Caped Crusader, including scenes from The Batman and Titans. It also briefly incorporates moments from Jensen Ackles’ roles in The Boys as Soldier Boy and Supernatural. But he is not the only star presented in the trailer. Fans also get to see Timothee Chalamet making an appearance in the clip as well. Currently, there has been no official announcement regarding who will portray Batman in the upcoming film. This leaves an opportunity for Gunn and his team to consider reaching out to Ackles for the highly anticipated role.

Having Ackles as Batman in The Brave and the Bold would certainly be an interesting choice for the DCEU. The actor has already demonstrated his ability to portray complex and gritty characters in superhero settings, such as his role in The Boys. His experience would bring depth and nuance to Batman. On the other hand, he already has a history of voicing the character of Batman in animated projects such as Batman: The Long Halloween. His familiarity with the character’s voice and persona could seamlessly translate into a live-action performance, ensuring he embodies Batman’s essence.

Given Ackles’ enthusiasm for the character and his repeated expressions of interest in playing a live-action Batman, it seems likely that he will at least be considered for the iconic role. However, Ackles’ broad appeal is one of the many reasons he became a top contender for the role of Batman. If he is cast as the new Batman, there’s no doubt that there would be a massive influx of fans who might not have been very keen on the upcoming DCU movies. Fans are eagerly anticipating which version of Batman will appear in The Brave and the Bold. Currently, the script has not been finalized, and casting will commence once it’s ready. The last Batman portrayed on the big screen was by Ben Affleck, and it will be exciting to see who will take on the role of DCU’s Dark Knight next.
