In the Classroom of the Elite series, Horikita Suzune serves as one of the show’s main characters. She prefers to isolate herself from others and act as a lone wolf, but eventually, she finds herself gradually trusting and befriending Kiyotaka Ayanokoji. Horikita thinks highly of herself and feels she has no business interacting with others, because they will only bring her down. Because of this, she has few friends in school.

In Classroom of the Elite, most Class D students, now Class C, are striving to overtake their upperclassmen. To do this, they need to unite as one. Suzune understands this and strives to put her pride aside in favor of helping others, since they have the same goal.

6 Honami Ichinose

Class B’s Trusted Leader

These two have a mutual relationship based on cooperation. They have minimal interactions, but for Suzune, who barely has friends, it is something to note. Ichinose is in Class B, meaning she is ahead of Suzune. She is quite popular around the school, and Suzune cannot help but note some of the qualities in Ichinose that she admires and wishes she had.

The most important are her leadership abilities. Ichinose is able to unite her classmates during the survival test on the island, a task that Suzune was unable to do. She voiced her thoughts to Ichinose and Ayanokoji. Suzune admits that their class is truly an upgrade because of how well they are able to unite.

5 Yōsuke Hirata

Class D’s Class Representative

Yosuke Hirata is the representative of Class D. As the representative, he is on good terms with every member of his class and has to interact with them. During the survival test on the island, Hirata had no problem making Suzune the leader, once Kushida deemed her fit and no one objected.

During the summer break, Hirata approached Ayanokoji to get Suzune to interact with their other classmates. Hirata and Suzune’s interactions are minimal, but they get along quite well because they both want the same thing: to get to Class A.

4 Kikyo Kushida

Suzune’s Flash From The Past

Suzune and Kushida are more rivals than friends, but their interactions have been friendly even though their intentions are not. Kushida, since the first episode, has aimed to become friends with everyone in the school, including Suzune. However, Suzune is not the slightest bit interested in being friends with Kushida. Rather, she finds her good-hearted act very suspicious. As the anime progresses, they soon come to terms with the fact that they dislike each other, but other students (apart from Ayanokoji) are unaware of their mutual dislike.

During the survival test on the island, Kushida volunteered for Suzune to be the leader of their class, because she felt Suzune had the talents and capability. This surprised Suzune, but she went on with it and became the leader.

3 Manabu Horikita

Suzune’s Brother

Manabu is Suzune’s older brother, and although they are not close, Suzune longs to be closer with him. She wants him to acknowledge her little accomplishments and her acceptance into the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School. Manubu acts like he does not care about Suzune, and while it might be mostly true, a little part of him does care about her.

Manabu shows surprise that Suzune has a friend, Ayanokoji, and advises her to keep it up. He also acts as a witness during Suzune and Kushida’s bet for the Paper Shuffle test. His presence in the school pushes Suzune to work with others to get to Class A, as she just wants him to acknowledge her and not feel embarrassed by her existence.

2 Ken Sudo

A Suzune ‘Fan’

Sudo and Suzune had quite a rough start because of his short temper and her pride. In order to prevent him and two others from getting expelled, Suzune creates a study group. However, Sudo is hell-bent on not joining, because Suzune constantly talks down to him and the others. He failed the test Suzune wanted him to study for, and was about to get expelled, but thanks to Ayanokoji and Suzune, he is able to get the points he needed to stay in school.

During the summer break, Sudo opens up to his friends that he has feelings for Suzune. Another event to note is the sports festival, when things were not going in their favor and Sudo left the team to fend for themselves. Suzune is able to get him to come back and lead the team.

1 Kiyotaka Ayanokoji

Suzune’s Number One Ally

Even though Suzune claims to be a lone wolf, she allows herself to associate with Ayanokoji. Suzune will do anything to advance to Class A because she wants her brother to acknowledge her. One fateful night, Ayanokoji comes out to get a drink, and he catches sight of Suzune in the corner with the student council president, who turns out to be her brother. That night Ayanokoji saved her from getting attacked by her brother.

Ayanokoji tells Suzune that she needs allies and cannot keep moving alone. He also calls her out for dismissing Sudo, even though she was the one who offered to help. By the end of season one, Suzune admits to Ayanokoji that she sees him as an ally, though unknowingly to her, he does not share the same beliefs.
