One Piece’s Final Saga is continuing with great intensity and the Egghead Island arc has been quite an exciting start to the final stretch of this amazing story. Much to the surprise of the fans, Egghead has been very science heavy as it is centered around Dr Vegapunk, who fans know to be the smartest man in the entirety of One Piece.
At the beginning of the Final Saga, fans did not know that Vegapunk would be at the center of things, and now, he has certainly opened up the door for countless possibilities in terms of how the story is going to be shaped from here onwards. One of the most important aspects of this arc has been science, and it appears that this will now be a major focal point of the story moving forward. Science is certainly going to shape One Piece greatly as the story tackles the secrets of the past, and prepares for the wars to come.

Science has always been a major power in the world of One Piece. In fact, it can also be said that it is one of the most overlooked powers of the series as it isn’t prevalent in that many individuals. When it comes to the power system of One Piece, fans know the devil fruits form the primary one. Then comes Haki, which was introduced around the middle point of the story, and ever since then, these two have been extremely important. However, then, characters such as Franky started indulging in science, and with Sanji, Oda made even greater developments in that direction. Fans know that science is going to be extremely important in One Piece from here onwards, and with the Egghead Island arc and the creation of the SSG, the ones responsible for the Seraphims, this looks like it is going to develop even further.

Essentially, It should be common knowledge at this point that science is the third biggest power in One Piece, alongside Devil Fruits and Haki. This has been given more importance now than ever before, as the likes of Vegapunk have created individuals that are set to surpass all of humanity, simply based on the power of science. As such, everyone, from characters within the Straw Hat Pirates, to the Seraphims, to those sitting at the top of the entire world, are going to be reliant on science from here onwards and this opens up a door for countless possibilities. One Piece is going to dive incredibly deep into science and things are going to be very exciting in that regard.

The Ancient Kingdom Was The Hub Of Science Once
While the science surrounding individuals such as Sanji, and the Seraphim, among others, is certainly very exciting, it isn’t the pinnacle of technology that the fans have seen. The Pinnacle of technology comes from the Ancient Kingdom, which fans know existed long ago. A thousand years ago, this Ancient Kingdom flourished, however, around 900 years ago, a major war erupted in the world of One Piece. This war was fought because of a difference in ideologies, and at this point, 20 Kingdoms allied in order to destroy this technologically advanced Kingdom.
One of the biggest advancements they made was in terms of creating an ancient energy source. This energy source is said to have been eternal, and had it existed today, it would have solved all the major crises going on in the world. Vegapunk places great importance on these ancient energy sources, and they are certainly going to be relevant going on in the story as well. For instance, Vegapunk was able to create Mother Flame, a powerful source of energy that is undying.
However, while he intended for Mother Flame to provide energy to the world, it also comes with its downsides. Essentially, Mother Flame can also be used to power up the ancient weapons and cause mass destruction. With a single shot of the ancient weapon Uranus, Lulusia was completely wiped off the face of the Earth. This was done by the power of science which is going to be incredibly relevant from here onwards in the story.
Essentially, the scientific technology of the ancient Kingdom was so great that they could defeat anyone and anything with this power. It wouldn’t matter who had what Devil Fruit and who had the strongest haki, science is a power that can essentially triumph and compete with the others, depending on how it is used.
The Mother Flame And The Future Of Science In One Piece
The Future Of Science Is Tied To The Mother Flame
As mentioned earlier, science is going to be incredibly relevant in One Piece from here onwards. This is simply down to the fact that Oda is going to be taking fans down the memory lane in regards to the Void Century. This technologically advanced kingdom is going to be focused on more and more, and their amazing technology will be at the center of attention as well. More importantly, fans will find out more about what the Mother Flame is, how it was created, and how it ties to the likes of the Lunarians, and the flame that burns on their backs. There is bound to be some connection between them, the Lunarians, the Seraphims, and even characters such as Sanji.
This scientific technology is going to be the key going forward in the Final Saga of One Piece, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see how this massive plot point develops. For now, there are even major characters, such as the Iron Giant, who is also powered by the ancient energy source who is going to be massively relevant in this segment of the story. Oda has shown time and again that science is a very underrated power in One Piece and while it is primarily meant for good, it can also be used in destructive ways. Similarly, it can also be used to uphold good, possibly like Sora used to do long ago. It is one ability that fans need to keep an eye out for and it is certainly going to shine in this part of One Piece.
There are many characters who are going to drive this plot forward. Through the likes of the remaining Vegapunks, if any of them stay alive, Franky, Sanji, and of course, in the flashback, two characters such as Joy Boy, and Oda is going to reveal major details about the importance of science and why it is a massive power in the One Piece World. Fans have many interesting things to look forward to going forward when it comes to science, and it is going to be an incredible Journey.
