In the previous chapter of You Are My Desire, Yujing, Shen Wan, and his friends go out drinking, but Shen Wan offers to drink for Yujing instead. Shen Wan’s friends are convinced that Shen Wan likes Yujing since he even drank on her behalf.

The party ends, and Yujing finds herself at Shen Wan’s place and instantly falls asleep. Shen Wan figures that she probably had not been sleeping well and leaves her to nap. Shen Wan’s friends begin teasing him about Yujing and tell him that they will not go after her if he likes her and that he should be inside since she is sleeping in his bed.

Shen Wan dismisses their speculations and tells them that he drank for her since she was out drinking with him and a group of men she was unfamiliar with. He emphasizes that it was out of courtesy, and he goes in to sit beside a sleeping Yujing.
