The characters of the upcoming anime Mashe: Magic and Muscles are brought to life in adorable promotional material, along with the tease of an upcoming announcement.
The official Twitter page of A-1 Pictures’ Mashle: Magic and Muscles recently came out with a new illustration showing off the leading cast of the series. The image provides a fresh look at the show with mini depictions of Mash Burnedead, Dot Barrett, Lemon Irvine, Finn Ames, and Lance Crown, all depicted in front of a colorful background and surrounded by Mash’s favorite snack, cream puffs. These characters are the central team in the Harry Potter-esque manga, and this image delivers a strong sense of each of their personalities, as well as a solid look at their character designs.
Besides the promotional picture, the tweet also revealed that new information about the anime project would arrive on Feb 27, 2023. It is unclear what this information will be, so fans will have to be patient.
About the Upcoming Mashle Anime
A-1 Picture will produce the upcoming anime series, while Tamoya Tanaka (Engage Kiss, Sword Art Online, Blood Lad) will direct. It will feature vocal performances from Chikai Kobayashi (The Great Pretender, Tomodachi Game, SK8 The Infinity) as Mash, Takuya Eguchi (Spy x Family, That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime, Ranking of Kings) as Dot, Reina Ueda (Takt Op. Destiny, Chainsaw Man, Dr. Stone) as Lemon and Reiji Kawashima (Shadows House, To Your Eternity, Digimon Ghost Game) as Finn.
Magic and Muscles, written by Hajime Komoto and serialized by Weekly Shonen Jump, is published in English by Viz Media. The story occurs in a magic-dominated world, where the ability to perform spells determines each person’s worth. The protagonist, Mash Burnedead, is unable to produce any magic at all, making him a target for purging by the magic-obsessed community.
However, what he lacks in mystical abilities, he makes up for with brute strength, as Mash is so unbelievably strong that he can perform physical feats that defy all logic. He soon enters the illustrious magic school Easton Academy and sets out to become a “Divine Visionary” in order to attain a peaceful life free of persecution for himself and his adoptive father.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles has a premiere window set for April 2023.
