A talented anime fan has brought My Hero Academia’s Rabbit Hero to life in an action-packed cosplay.
User MC_707 uploaded pictures of the Mirko cosplay on Reddit, and not only did they accurately recreate the hero’s purple and white costume, but they also captured her attitude and swagger through powerful poses. MC_707 has also crafted costumes for other iconic anime characters like Yor from Spy x Family and Misa Amane from Death Note.

Set in a world where the majority of the people have some kind of power called a Quirk, My Hero Academia follows Izuku Midoriya from being a Quirkless but earnest wimp to one of the world’s greatest heroes. A cornerstone of the modern anime/manga landscape, the multimedia franchise began in July 2014 when Kōhei Horikoshi published the first chapter of his ongoing super-hero themed manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. Since then, the story has been adapted into an award-winning anime by studio Bones (The Case Study of Vanitas), multiple feature films and several video games, light novels and stage plays.
Fans Get Creative With My Hero Academia
Superhero fans also contribute to the My Hero Academia franchise’s growth by making fan art and cosplay, and Mirko commonly serves as inspiration. Not only did Horikoshi recently release a new illustration that sees multiple members of the story’s cast, including protagonist Midoriya and fan-favorite Shoto Todoroki, dressed up as the Rabbit Hero to celebrate the New Year, but none other than Grammy Award-winning rapper and songwriter Megan Thee Stallion posted pictures of her own gorgeous and accurate cosplay of the hero.
Of course, Mirko isn’t the only My Hero Academia character to spark fans’ creativity and interest; at the end of last year, another Reddit user, BZNintendo, uploaded pictures of a surreal and creepy Shigaraki cosplay. Similarly, Spanish cosplayer Nayelin showed off her gravity-defying Uravity costume, which near-perfectly recreated the hero-in-training’s tinted visor, protective boots and oversized wrist guards.
My Hero Academia has more content coming, as Netflix recently acquired the rights for Legendary Entertainment’s upcoming live-action movie adaptation of the story. Joby Harold, who previously worked on Obi-Wan Kenobi and Army of the Dead, has signed on to write the script and Shinsuki Sato will direct the project in his English-language debut.
The My Hero Academia manga by Horikoshi is distributed in North America by VIZ Media, and studio Bones’ anime adaptation is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
