Naruto Launches Hand-Painted Figurine Collaboration Subscription Service

Figurine maker Fanhome has launched a special subscription service for Naruto fans.

According to Otaku Magazine, anime fanatics who sign up for the subscription will receive one of the company’s hand-painted creations from its new Naruto Shippuden Figurine Collection each month. Fanhome confirmed fan-favorite characters like Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Nagato and Kakashi as part of the collection. Moreover, each figurine will come with additional goodies, including a “thoroughly researched and fully illustrated monthly magazine” that provides “in-depth explorations of the action-packed world of Naruto Shippuden, its characters, story, and lore.”

Naruto Debuted in 1999

Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto manga first appeared in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1999, with the final chapter getting published in the magazine in 2014. The story follows the titular orange-clad shinobi as he endeavors to become the leader of his village. Alongside his teammates, Sakura and Sasuke, and his Jonin teacher, Kakashi, Naruto trains to become a powerful ninja and learns the dark secrets of his world.

With over 250 million copies in circulation around the world, Naruto stands as one of the best-selling manga in history, alongside Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball. Studio Pierrot (Yu Yu Hakusho) adapted Kishimoto’s manga into two anime series; Naruto, which initially aired between 2002 and 2007, and Naruto Shippuden, which originally ran between 2007 and 2017. The franchise also includes a wealth of tie-in movies, video games and even stage plays.

Naruto Remains a Cultural Icon

Despite almost ten years passing since the publication of the manga’s final chapter and six years passing since the anime’s conclusion, anime/manga fanatics continue to flock to the ninja franchise and companies use that popularity to turn a profit. Beyond Fanhome’s new Naruto figurine subscription service, FaZe Clan, a professional esports organization, dropped an apparel line inspired by the series that features a Shadow Clone puffer jacket and multiple Kakashi-themed hoodies and jackets. Furthermore, luxury goods manufacturer Montblanc celebrated Naruto’s 20th anniversary with a collection of expensive leather goods and pens.

Naruto fans also contribute to the franchise’s continued longevity by crafting impressive content of their own. For example, iconic comic book artist In-Hyuk Lee recently posted epic redesigns of Sasuke, Rock Lee, Temari and Kakashi that feature more practical combat gear on his Twitter account. Similarly, Tiktok-user staceyaveri uploaded a video that showcases a detailed leaf carving of Team 7 in their younger years.

VIZ Media distributes Kishimoto’s manga in North America, and both anime series are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
